SIU tildeler prosjektmidler til norske høyere utdanningsinstitusjoner som ønsker å utvikle et utdanningssamarbeid med indiske institusjoner på master- og PhD nivå. Prosjekter med en norsk og en indisk partner kan søke om opptil 400 000 kroner per år i støtte (totalt 1,2 millioner kroner for prosjektperioden). Søknadsfrist 16. september.
Som et ledd i forberedelsen til etablering av prosjektsamarbeid med indiske institusjoner, kan norske institusjoner også søke SIU om inntil 50 000 kroner i reisestøtte for å bli bedre kjent med partnere og for å planlegge felles aktiviteter. Søknadsfrist 29. august.
