The 16th Annual Research Presentations by the Research School in Clinical Medicine

Dear Researchers of the Department of Clinical Medicine (K1), Department of Clinical Science (K2), and Helse-Vest,

On behalf of the organizing committee, it is our pleasure to invite you to present your work at the 16th Annual Research Presentations arranged by the Research School in Clinical Medicine and would like to remind that the deadline is approaching.

This is an excellent opportunity to share your research and to get a chance to win a cash award worth between 3000 NOK and 10 000 NOK.

The event will be held on January 26-28, 2022, at Haukeland University Hospital, Bergen.

 Who is eligible to apply:

  • PhD candidates and Postdoctoral Researchers / Scientists appointed to K1, K2 Departments, and Helse-Vest.
  • Authors of the poster or oral presentations presented at a national or international scientific meeting in 2021.

  Registration and Submission tips:

  • Conference registration and document submissions will be received through online form following the link
  • All participants are welcome to submit more than one work stemming from different projects.
  • There is no submission limit for poster presentations. However, due to the time restriction, only the first 20 submitted projects will be presented in the oral presentation session.

Required documents for submission:

Poster Presentations:
Poster / e-Poster presented in a scientific meeting during the year.

  • Projects presented as a Conference Poster should be submitted as an original document in PDF format.
    • Please make sure to submit posters at a minimum of 300 DPI.
    • Participants do not need to bring printed posters, as this will be arranged by the organizing committee.
  • e-Posters presented in a digital conference should be submitted in the .pptx format (PowerPoint file) including Background, Material and Methods, Results, and Conclusion Sections.
    • Sections of the poster should be presented in separate slides to increase the readability of the data during the presentation.
    • PowerPoint should not exceed 6 slides per presentation
    • Participants do not need to bring printed posters, as posters will be printed for the event by the organizing committee.
    • If a conference poster was prepared for the original presentation despite the digital nature, please submit it in PDF format.
  • Abstract of the project filled in the submission page following the provided link
  • Brief, up to five sentences summary of the presentation: Written in Norwegian and filled in the submission page following the provided link.

Oral Presentations:

  • PowerPoint presentation of the project presented as an oral poster in a scientific meeting during the year
    • To present the most recent data, the authors are welcome to resend the updated version of the presentation to forskningspresentasjoner.forskerskolen@uib.no.
    • The deadline for the updated presentation submission is January 20, 2022.
  • Abstract of the project filled in the submission page following the provided link.
  • Brief, up to five sentences summary of the presentation: Written in Norwegian and filled in the submission page following the provided link

The submission deadline is December 1, 2021

Event Day(s):

Poster presentations will take place on January 26, 2022

  • Each poster presenter will give a short online presentation of their poster to a scientific committee.
  • Presentation time per poster is around five minutes (three minutes for presentation and 2 minutes for questions from the scientific committee).

Oral presentations will take place on January 27, 2022

  • The presentation time is 10 minutes per project followed by five minutes of discussion.
  • Oral presentations can be presented in the original, previously presented form. However, given that the audience may include participants from different backgrounds, authors are encouraged to add a general introduction to the topic.

The Award ceremony will take place on January 28, 2022

  • All presentations will be evaluated for prizes.

 

    Prizes:

  • Projects presented by PhD candidates will be eligible for awards in the following categories.
    • The best Poster presentation
      • First place winner:  10 000 NOK
      • Second place winner: 5000 NOK
      • Third place winner: 3000 NOK
    • The best Oral Presentation
      • First place winner:  10 000 NOK
      • Second place winner: 5000 NOK
      • Third place winner: 3000 NOK
  • Oral and poster presentations presented by Postdoctoral Researchers / Scientists will be eligible for the award in the following category:
    • Open Class – 10 000 NOK
  • People’s Choice Award:
    • All participants and projects will be eligible to participate in this category.
    • The nominee will be selected based on the votes from the audience.
