Seminar on open science – What happens when Norwegian magazines transition to Open Access?

In conjunction with the International Open Access Week the university library arranges a seminar on open science and open publishing.

Pro-rector Annelise Fimreite opens the seminar focusing on open science at UiB.

What is open science? – Ana Delgado is a researcher at the Centre for the Study of the Sciences and the Humanities, Faculty of Humanities. She conducts research on open science as a public good.

What happens when the Norwegian journals are published openly? How does this affect Norwegian as research language? – Nils Ivar Lahlum from Universitetsforlaget will talk about how Universitetsforlaget facilitates the transition of Norwegian journals and books to Open Access.

Dean Margareth Hagen at the Faculty of Humanities will give a comment on the transition to open publishing for Norwegian humanities journals.

Why we chose open publishing? – Editors of the Bergen Journal of Criminal Law & Criminal Justice will talk about experiences with open publishing and why they chose such a publishing model.
