HSE corner

uten navnThe annual HSE day for K2 is approaching fast. You can still register for the day, click here to register!

This year’s HSE day will be held on Wednesday, November 23rd at the VilVite center in Thormøhlens Gate 51. The HSE is mandatory for all full time employees at K2, but every employee at K2 are welcome to join the day!

Funding from the Norwegian University Center in St. Petersburg

The Norwegian university in St. Petersburg is open for research and teaching activities in all scientific disciplines. The center is owned and financed by NTNU and the Universities of Bergen, Oslo and Tromsø conjointly. Attached are three calls for proposals from the Norwegian University Center in St. Petersburg – all three in Norwegian and English

1) Funds for academic seminar in 2017 – a deadline of 15 December 2016

2) Funding for PhD activities in 2017 – a deadline of 15 December 2016

3) Funding for professional networking 2017-18 – deadline 15 February 2017

Friday 11.11.2016 (12:00-13:00): MedViz Lighthouse Project – Image-based quantitative assessment on abdominal organ function, managed by Professor and Chief physician Jarle T. Rørvik, Department of Radiology, Haukeland University Hospital and Clinical Department K1, University of Bergen.

Friday 02.12.2016 (12:00-13:00): MedViz Lighthouse Project – Multimodal imaging and ultrasound microbubble drug delivery in targeted cancer therapy, managed by Professor and Chief physician Bjørn Tore Gjertsen, Clinical Research unit, Section for research and innovation, Haukeland University Hospital and Clinical Department K2, University of Bergen.

Friday 16.12.2016 (12:00-14:00): MedViz Lighthouse Project – Model-supported data visualization to improve the diagnosis process, managed by Professor Helwig Hauser, The Visualization Group, Department of Informatics, University of Bergen. This event is also organized as a common Christmas Seminar in cooperation with Visual Computing Forum from Department of Informatics, UiB.

All the seminars are free, including light meals and coffee, and take place in the MedViz Incubator, Møllendalsbakken 7, 5th floor. You might read more about the projects and interviews with some of their project staff in the enclosed MedViz Annual Report from 2015.

Each arrangement will also be announced individually. We will be happy to see you.

New Names

Valeriya LyssenkoIntroducing Valeriya Lyssenko, endocrinologist and genetic expert in diabetes. She received UiB and Bergen Research foundation award and was appointed as Professor in Medicine at K2, Center for Diabetes Research on September 1. She is carrying out clinical studies on pathophysiology of diabetes and chronic complications. If you want to say hello, you can find her at childrens’ hospital 3th floor
