The Olav Thon Foundation has announced its national academic awards for 2016. It is awarded up to 10 prizes of NOK. 500,000 to:

1. Academic staff in research and teaching positions (including part-time positions)providing excellent teaching . The prize is personal.                                             2. Research projects in medicine and / or science brought actively into the education as an element of students participating in research. Support can be given over several years, if progress can be documented.
For details on the nomination process, see the attached announcement (in Norwegian). It should be noted that the Foundation has requested confidentiality around the names of nominees.
Deadline for submitting nominations and accompanying documentation to the faculty is Wednesday August 5th 2015. UiB sends collected nominations to the Foundation.
