Universitetet har et økt fokus på adressering og tilhørighet, ikke bare i forbindelse med publikasjoner, men også ved kontakter med pressen. I sistnevnte tilfeller er det viktig å påse at vi adresseres med instituttnavn og deretter Universitetet i Bergen. Om man også velger først å ta med navnet på forskningsgruppen, er det selvsagt helt greit. Når det gjelder tittel er man for eksempel professor ved Klinisk Institutt 2, UiB. For de som har også har stilling ved for eksempel Haukeland Universitetssykehus eller Stavanger Universitetssykehus er man der overlege. Vi er ikke professor ved disse sykehusene.
Man kan hevde at dette vil man ikke få pressen med på fordi det er for omstendelig. Men det er ikke tilfellet. Et ferskt eksempel på at det går an, er Laurence Bindoff som nylig var omtalt i VG. Han ble korrekt adressert med Klinisk institutt 1, Universitetet i Bergen. Det er en god regel å be om å få teksten til gjennomlesing, og da er det lurt å benytte muligheten til å sjekke at også adresseringen er korrekt som beskrevet over. Min erfaring er at også journalistene er interessert i at det som kommer på trykk skal være korrekt.
Per[:en]The university has an increased focus on correct affiliation, not only related to publications, but also in contact with the press. In the latter case, it is important to check that we are addressed by the name of the institute and then University of Bergen. You may also want to first state the name of the research group, and that is of course OK. As to the title, we for are for instance professor at the Department of Clinical Science, UoB. Those who are also employed by the for instance Haukeland University Hospital or Stavanger University Hospital may be consultant, while not professor at the hospitals.
One may argue that the press will not accept such an affiliation as it is too extensive. However, Laurence Bindoff at K1 is a recent example that this is quite possible. When his research was presented in VG, he was addressed with Department of Clinical Medicine, UoB.
A good advice is to review the text prior to publication and this is an opportunity to also check the affiliation. My experience is that also the journalists want the content of their papers to be correct.

For noen uker siden ble det satt opp en ekstra gruppetreningstime for UiB-ansatte ved SiB Årstad.
Timen ledes av forsker Aurora Brønstad fra K1, som også er utdannet gruppetreningsinstruktør. Dette er en styrke- og kondisjonstime med enkle øvelser som alle kan være med på.

A few weeks ago, an additional exercise class for UiB employees at SiB Årstad was started.
The class is led by researcher Aurora Brønstad from K1, who is also a trained instructor. This is a strength and cardiovascular class with simple exercises that anyone can do.

- Mandag 14. mars kl 13:00. Fellesmøte 1 med en kort presentasjon av det faglige målet med prosjektet, og kort hva det vil innebære av budsjettmessige føringer (med oversikt over stillinger og driftsutgifter). Deltagere: utvidet ledergruppe og andre seniore forskere; forskningsrådgiver; administrasjon
- Mandag 18. april: Opprette online søknad i NFR sine systemer. Og gi tilgang til «sin» økonom.
- Onsdag 20. april kl 13:00: Fellesmøte. Prosjektlederne presenterer søknadene for hverandre, og instituttledelsen (5 til 10 min per presentasjon).
- Torsdag 21. april – Fredag april Kontaktmøter mellom administrasjon og forskerne, budsjettplanlegging. Siv lager kalender for møtetider disse to dagene.
- Ultimo april: Intern peer-review.
- Mandag 23.mai: Endelig frist for godkjenning av Instituttleder.
- Onsdag 25. mai: Kl 13.00 Endelig søknadsfrist til NFR.

• Monday 14 March at 1 pm: First joint meeting with a short presentation of the scientific goal of the project, and briefly about the budget (with list of positions and operating expenses). Participants: extended management team and other senior researchers; research adviser; administration
• Monday April 18: Creating online application in NRC’s systems, and provide access for the project economist.
• Wednesday, 20 April at 1 pm: Joint meeting. The project leaders present the applications for each other and department management (5 to 10 min per presentation).
• Thursday 21 April – Friday 22 April: Contact Meetings between management and researchers, budget planning. Siv will make a time table for meetings these two days.
• Ultimo April: Internal peer review.
• Monday May 23: Deadline for approval by Head of Department.

Roland er ansatt som visedekan for forskerutdanning på MOF fra 1/4.
