Leader of the week - Camilla Tøndel

Dear everyone!
Congratulations on successfully completing OSCE12 yesterday in both Stavanger and Bergen! A large number of scientific, administrative, and technical K2 staff, in collaboration with colleagues across the faculty, made a great effort to ensure that this final exam for medical students was carried out in the best possible way, with good tasks given simultaneously on two campuses for the first 7 Vestlandslegen pilot students in Stavanger and 90 students in Bergen. Next week is OSCE6 for all 209 MED6 students, and in addition, many are working on grading written exams, etc., across the various semesters. A huge thanks to everyone for the important work!
For the 245 in the medical program starting in the fall of 2026, there were very strong application numbers, and a total of 429 students had chosen the latest Bergen/Haugesund model as their first choice. After three years in Bergen, the lucky selected ones will move to Haugesund in the summer of 2029 for the last three years. The first Bergen/Stavanger students who started in the fall of 2024 will move to Stavanger in 2027, while the first Bergen/Førde students who started last year will go to Førde in 2028.
For further academic planning in the multi-campus model, overarching semester boards and local semester groups will be established starting this fall. The leaders of the semester boards will, as before, have permanent representation in the Program Committee for Medicine (PUM). In addition, PUM will have permanent representation from the academic study leaders from the Stavanger, Førde, and Haugesund campuses. A lot of good work is ongoing to ensure a smooth transition to the multi-campus model, with productive discussions and adjustments where needed.
Wishing you a really great weekend!
Camilla

Learn to publish in W4

Several employees have expressed a need for training in the publishing solution W4. Now, you are invited to two digital courses in June, with a practical review of how to post and maintain content on uib.no.

New webpages launched - W4

The University has now launched the new websites for the W4 pilot project, and K2’s landing page has been updated with the new profile. A major difference from before is that the new websites are intended exclusively for external audiences. For now, the pages are relatively sparse, and they are expected to be expanded with more content over time. You can also see a separate piece in K2Nytt about the course on publishing in W4 next Friday.

Small actions can contain great care

The area process at the Faculty of Medicine

Rose Day 2026

Are you also a lover of roses and are you excited by the beautiful flowers and their fragrance? On Rose Day at the Arboretum at Milde, you can meet both experts and amateurs who want to share their joys and experiences, and there will be a tour, sale of roses and rose talk.

Module 3: From skills to improvement

KI Kompetanseløft is a training offer from the University Director/UIB aimed at all technical-administrative employees at the university. The goal is to strengthen the understanding of artificial intelligence (AI) and how AI tools can be used as support in everyday work. The offer is activity-based and consists of three modules, each with a short launch, a self-guided online course module and follow-up activities that can be carried out individually, in the units or in joint colloquia and learning workshops.
