Several universities and institutes in Europe and US have been running a workshop on “Effective visual communication of science” for PhD students and researchers.
In this workshop, participants learn various principles and approaches for visually communicating complex research ideas and results. They talk about research papers, slide presentations, conference posters, and project proposals and work on materials supplied by participants. In a drawing exercise, everybody will prepare a graphical abstract for their next publication and get feedback. Everybody receives a certificate of participation and some institutions also give ECTS points.
