The National Association for Public Health is now accepting nominations for the 2026 Dementia Research Award.
You are hereby encouraged to submit suggestions for potential candidates. Please complete the attached nomination form and send it to dist@nasjonalforeningen.no
Deadline Wednesday, October 15, 2025.
The award is a recognition given on the basis of one or more of the following criteria:
· A researcher or research group who has contributed to groundbreaking research results nationally and internationally that have increased the knowledge base about risk factors, causal relationships, preventive measures, diagnostic methods or effective treatment.
· A researcher or research group who has had an extraordinarily good national and possibly international research collaboration and/or interdisciplinary collaboration that can set an example for others.
· A researcher who is early in their research career who has made a special effort in the areas mentioned above, and who in the future has the potential to take a central role in promoting and elevating the field of dementia research in Norway.
· The research has high relevance to the field of dementia and has the potential to make a difference for people affected by dementia in the short or long term.

The Dementia Research Prize is worth 200,000 kroner. The prize money is to be used for research-related work. The prize will be awarded at a ceremony in April 2026.
Candidates can be nominated from all research environments. It is also an opportunity to nominate your own candidacy.
