SVT’s annual symposium 3 December: Sick society – Exploring the relation between knowledge and action in a pandemic

The symposium will focus on the relation between knowledge and actions in Covid-19 times. We want to critically discuss the enduring ‘state of exception’ we are experiencing, and explore the responsibility of science to inform action under complexity and uncertainty.

In addition to the presentations from SVTers Thorvald Sirnes, Silje Langvatn and Kjetil Rommetveit, we look forward to hearing presentations from Esperanza Diaz, head of the Pandemic Centre, Elling Ulvestad, Professor at the Department of Clinical Sciences (UiB) and Ana Delgado, Associate professor at the Centre for Technology, Innovation and Culture (TIK, UiO).

We have also invited a panel of people who had to work during the ‘semi-lockdown’ at the beginning of the pandemic, who will talk about which information was used to navigate this situation.
