[:no]Instituttet har fått varsel om at det i tiden 17-20.oktober vil bli gjennomført tilsyn fra Helsedirektoratet om vår virksomhet som berøres av genteknologiloven.
Ifølge den loven kan arbeid med GMO (levende organismer som har fått sitt genetiske materiale forandret ved bruk av genteknologi) kun utføres når:

1) laboratoriet der arbeidet foregår er godkjent for arbeid med den aktuelle GMO.

2) det er sendt inn søknad/rapport om den aktuelle forskningsaktiviteten.

Ad 1. Ved vårt institutt foreligge det allerede godkjenninger av laboratorier som vil dekke de fleste av de aktivitetene som er aktuelle. Men det er viktig at brukerne setter seg inn i hvilke arealer som er godkjent, og om godkjennelsen også vil omfatte dere aktivitet.

Ad2. All bruk av GMO skal rapporteres inn eller søkes om tillatelse. Om det må foreligge tillatelse for man starter arbeidet er avhengig av risikovurderingen av aktiviteten.

Det er Helsedirektoratet som er bemyndiget til å føre tilsyn om genteknologiloven etterfølges. Informasjon om søknader kan man finne på deres hjemmeside:

Her vil man finne den nødvendige informasjon; lov og forskrifter, søknadsskjema og hvor søknaden skal sendes. Under linken til «Genmodifiserte mikroorganismer» kan man finne en liste over risikovurderinger av mikroorganismer, som kan være nyttig.

Ikke alt arbeid innenfor genteknologi innbefatter GMO. For eksempel vil PCR eller sekvensering av et PCR-produkt ikke medføre noen levende organisme, og omfattes derfor ikke av loven. Men hvis man derimot kloner PCR-produktet inn i en plasmid-vektor og transformerer denne inn i en bakterie, har man laget en GMO.

Instituttet er pålagt å ha oversikt over all aktivitet om innbefatter GMO. According to the law can work with GMOs (living organisms that have their genetic material altered through genetic engineering) done only when:

1) laboratory where the work is done is approved for operation with the relevant GMO.

2) it is submitted application / report on the research activity.

Ad 1. At our institute exist already approvals of laboratories that will cover most of the activities in question. But it is important that users familiarize themselves with the areas that have been approved, and whether approval will also cover you activity.

Ad2. Any use of GMOs to be reported or apply for a permit. If there must be a permit for starting work is dependent on the risk assessment of the activity.

It’s Directorate of Health is empowered to supervise the Gene Technology Act is followed. Information about applications can be found on their website:

Here you will find the necessary information; law and regulations, application forms and how the application should be sent. Below link to «Genetically modified microorganisms» you can find a list of the risk assessment of microorganisms, which can be useful.

Not all activities in genetic engineering include GMOs. For example, PCR or sequencing of a PCR product does not cause any living organism, and therefore not covered by the law. But if on the other hand clones the PCR product into a plasmid vector and transforming this into a bacterium, has made a GMO.

The department is required to keep track of all activity on includes GMOs. Den representerer arbeidet som ble igangsatt da Marte Asphaug var student ved SUS.

Nye nettsider med maler og verktøy til bruk i arbeidet med eksternfinansierte forskningsprosjekter er nå klar fra BOA-teamet ved UiB. http://www.uib.no/foransatte/91955/arbeidsst%c3%b8tte-bidrags-og-oppdragsfinansiert-aktivitet-boa

Målgruppen for BOA-nettsidene er primært administrasjonene på fakultet og institutt. Øvrige brukere blir prosjektledere, lokale og sentrale rådgivere som har roller knyttet til BOA-relatert arbeid. Nettsidene vil fortsatt være i kontinuerlig utvikling i samarbeid med de ulike brukergruppene.
Nettsidene dekker hele prosessen til et eksternt finansiert forskningsprosjekt: mobilisering, søknad, kontrakt, oppstart, drift og avslutning. For hvert steg i prosessen beskrives alle de aktivitetene som hører til samt rollefordeling, oppgaver, veiledning, ressurser og kontaktpersoner.

Brukerne kan melde inn behov til ansvarlig for BOA-nettsidene, slik at mer spesifikk informasjon for fakultet eller institutt kan vurderes tatt inn på sidene. BOA-team leder har et overordnet, helhetlig ansvar for BOA-nettsidene og skal sørge for gode rutiner

The target group for BOA-sites are primarily administrations of faculties and departments. Other users are project managers, local and central advisers who have roles associated with BOA-related work. The website will remain in continuous development in collaboration with the various user groups.
The website covers the entire process to a externally financed research projects: mobilization, application, contract, startup, operation and shutdown. For each step in the process described all the activities belonging to all roles, tasks, guidance, resources and contacts.

Users can enroll needs to responsible for BOA-sites, allowing more specific information for faculty or institute may be considered on pages. BOA team leader has overall, comprehensive responsibility for BOA websites and provide good practices
