The first of four learning workshops will be held under the auspices of KI Kompetanseløft on January 21, 2026. The theme is word processing and translation, with a focus on how Copilot can contribute to more efficient and precise text production.

We invite you to a seminar with Professor Charalampos (Haris) Tzoulis, Professor of Neurology and Neurogenetics at the University of Bergen and Haukeland University Hospital. Tzoulis is an internationally recognized expert in movement disorders and neurodegeneration, and leads both the Neuro-SysMed, DECODE-PD research group and the KG Jebsen Center for Translational Research in Parkinson's Disease.

The event on December 3 is organized by Global Social Challenges (GSU) and Coimbra Group Global Partnerships, in collaboration with the Southern African – Nordic Centre (SANORD) network at UiB and HVL. The invitation goes out to all relevant academic communities in Bergen. We would like the help of the GSU academic steering group to disseminate information to the faculties, and we ask that you share this as you find relevant in your own faculties.

One Ocean Week (OOW) 2026 will be held 18–24 April for the fourth time. UiB is a main partner and will further strengthen its participation. The goal of the Bergen City Council and the Bergen Ocean City is to attract an international ocean conference at UN level by 2030, and UiB will actively contribute. An internal working group, led by Vice-Rector Kjell-Morten Myhr, coordinates UiB's activities and collaboration with local, national and international partners. Professional communities are encouraged to submit proposals for events related to the UN Decade of Ocean Research and "Ocean Decade Outcomes". There is an opportunity for financial support. The deadline for submissions is 15 December 2025 to email: OOW@uib.no.
