Dear everyone!
I would like to follow up on Silke’s editorial from last week from an administrative perspective.
The Faculty Board believes that this is the right time to develop an updated administrative competence and staffing plan, and last week approved a comprehensive review of the administration of the future. We want to remain an attractive workplace that offers both professional development and a broad range of opportunities, while also looking ahead to future needs. You will a link to the papers from the Faculty Board at the end of this editorial. Vestlandslegen is transforming the medical degree programme into a multi-campus model, where all campus locations are to be provided with equivalent services. The current staffing plan dates back to 2013, with only minor adjustments having been made since then.
It is important to emphasize that the existing organizational structure will remain unchanged, with five departments and one faculty. However, during the autumn and spring semesters, proposals for organizational model(s) will be developed to ensure the delivery of high-quality services to both students and staff. The aim of the project is to provide predictable services of consistent quality across functions, departments, and campuses, where academic, administrative, and technical staff work together to create the best possible conditions for education and research, and to support our overall academic capacity.
Prosjektgruppen har laget en plan for medvirkning, og planlegger å gå bredt ut for å innhente kunnskapsgrunnlag. For at støttefunksjoner og tjenester skal dimensjoneres og tilpasses best mulig våre behov og prioriteringer, tar prosjektgruppen sikte på at alle på fakultetet skal bli hørt i en åpen og inkluderende prosess. I juni 2027 skal det foreligge en sluttrapport med anbefaling om modell(er) for tjenester og organisering. Jeg oppfordrer virkelig alle til å ta muligheten for å gi innspill og bli hørt når arbeidet setter i gang, slik at vi også får tilbudt administrative tjenester på en god måte i den nye hverdagen med flercampusmodellen – både i Bergen og andre campus!
