AI and Sensitive Data UiB AI collaborates with NORA on a CuttingEdgeAI seminar on sensitive data. How can we balance the potential of machine learning with privacy?
Artificial intelligence is challenging established boundaries for how sensitive data can be collected, analyzed and used. In Norway and the EU, this development unfolds in the tension between innovation and the protection of fundamental rights. New data-driven models make it possible to derive sensitive information – such as health, economic or security-related conditions – from publicly available data. How can AI be developed and deployed without undermining privacy, legal guarantees and public trust? This seminar explores dilemmas related to data access, discrimination, accountability and regulation in an era where both technology and legal frameworks are rapidly evolving.
