Establishing the Center for Quantum Technology in Bergen

The University of Bergen is establishing UiB Kvante – Center for Quantum Technology in Bergen. The center is funded by UiB and the Trond Mohn Research Foundation, with a total budget of NOK 80 million over five years. The goal is to build an interdisciplinary center based on strong academic environments, which can develop quantum technology with direct impact on society.

UiB Quantum – Center for Quantum Technology will be established in Bergen from autumn 2026. Professor Pinar Heggernes will be the head of the center, which will be based on environments at the Department of Physics and Technology and the Department of Informatics.
