It is gratifying to have a lot of application activity at K2, and it is even more gratifying when the application is successful 😊 Congratulations on the allocation from the Children's Cancer Society to Pascal Gelebart, who has received funding for a 3-year project, and Anastassia Serguienko, who has received operating funds for her existing project.
And when you send an application, you must also expect to get a rejection, which is never easy to get. But this does not mean that the idea does not have value. Take this as an opportunity to further develop the project, the most important thing is to keep going. Many of the most successful initiatives have started precisely with a rejection, so don't give up!
It may also help with extra application support: Strategic Programme for International Research Cooperation (SPIRE) - the support is to be regarded as seed funding for the initiation and development of new international research collaborations as a basis for project applications to Horizon Europe, the Research Council of Norway and other external funding sources.
Who can apply?
Academic staff (combined positions with a research component), researchers (codes: 1109, 1110, 1183 – with a PhD) and postdoctoral fellows at UiB.
Academic staff must hold at least a 50% position at UiB.
Postdoctoral fellows must hold a 100% position at UiB, and must have employment at UiB for the next two years to be eligible to apply.
