Launch of the national report for subject evaluation of medicine and health subjects (EVALMEDHELSE)
Digital: The event is streamed
April 8 at 13.00–14.30
Subject evaluation of medicine and health subjects has taken place since 2023. And the national report will be published on 8 April 2025.
The aim of the evaluation is to assess the quality of research within medicine and health sciences in Norway. We also look at the framework conditions for the research and how relevant it is for important areas of society.
The evaluation comes with recommendations to the institutions, the Research Council and the ministries. This is the second evaluation within life sciences. Subject evaluation of bioscience (EVALBIOVIT) was launched in March 2024.
A total of 68 administrative units and 317 research groups have been evaluated by three sector-specific evaluation committees and 18 international expert panels. The leaders of the eight evaluation committees have prepared a national report on medicine and health-related research, which will be presented at the launch seminar.

The 13th CCBIO Annual Symposium May 13-14
The 2024 symposium was a success with 200 participants, and we expect the 2025 symposium to be even better. To participate, please register within April 1, but we strongly recommend early registration to ensure participation and lodging.
We have organized a strong scientific program and secured a range of international speakers, among them Sir David Lane, Eva Hellström-Lindberg, Theodoros Foukakis, Anna Dimberg, Steinar Ø. Thoresen, Gema Moreno-Bueno and Jean Albrengues.
This year, we will also have more industry participants than earlier, with a separate educational session on career opportunities in the industry.
Younger researchers will be offered slots for 3-minute speed-talks as well as extended poster sessions with ample time for interaction between the participants. Deadline for abstracts is April 7.
The subsidized registration fee for academic participants is 2500 NOK/250 Euro per person for the two symposium days and the overnight stay with full board. For industry participants, separate terms apply, as is described on our industry page.
In order to accommodate 200+ participants in the 138 rooms available, we are dependent upon as many as possible sharing rooms (up to four). So, please indicate if, and with whom, you are willing to share your room when you register online.

Seminar on women’s health March 21
Female employees at UiB have more than twice as much sick leave as men. Women’s health has long been a low priority in medical research, which has led to knowledge gaps, misdiagnosis and unequal treatment of women and men.
We are therefore putting women’s health on the agenda at UiB, with a kick-off for all employees on March 21 in the Great Hall at Nygårdsgaten 5.
Spread the word and register here: Women’s health in a life-cycle perspective | For employees | UiB
Best regards
