The committee is proud to present “Let´s talk about drugs – from basic science to clinical trials” as the next seminar in the THC-seminar series.
Acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS) are two of the main research focuses for the hematological research groups at the Department of Clinical Science, UiB. In this seminar, we will highlight the progress that has been made, both in basic science, as well as in novel clinical trials performed in Bergen. Through our close collaboration with clinicians and patients, it has been possible for us to perform in vitro experiments using primary patient cells, and has also allowed the scientists to develop personalized mouse avatars derived from patient`s leukemic cells. During the presentations at this seminar, you will learn more about these exciting experiments, including insights into emerging drugs for the treatment of MDS and new clinical trials recruiting and treating patients with hematological malignancies in Bergen.
