KI Kompetanseløft is a training offer from the University Director/UIB aimed at all technical-administrative employees at the university. The goal is to strengthen the understanding of artificial intelligence (AI) and how AI tools can be used as support in everyday work. The offer is activity-based and consists of three modules, each with a short launch, a self-guided online course module and follow-up activities that can be carried out individually, in the units or in joint colloquia and learning workshops.

The call is open to permanent employees in academic positions at our partner institutions. Since UiB is one of our partner institutions, researchers at your institution have a unique opportunity to apply for funding for a one-year stay at the center together with a handpicked team of internationally renowned researchers.

Dear everyone!
This week began with a solemn ceremony in the Tower Hall, where Nina Langeland was presented with the Order of St. Olav by the County Governor of Vestland, Liv Signe Navarsete, for her many years of efforts in infectious medicine. The appointment is so well deserved and I am incredibly proud, congratulations so much!
Otherwise, I would like to thank you for your attendance and lively discussion at the general meeting with the finance working group on Thursday last week. Feel free to take the opportunity to provide input. The email address innspillk2gruppe@uib.no will be open until August 21, 2026. The working group will read everything that is submitted, but will likely not be able to respond to all of it.
Have a great weekend!
– Silke
