Open house at UiB!

UiB once again opens the doors to some of our most significant buildings during the architecture festival Open House Bergen. This year the festival takes place on 20 and 21 September, UiB's buildings are open on Sunday.

In vivo Optical Imaging workshop

This seminar will introduce some of the less well-known features and applications of the IVIS Spectrum, including 3D imaging, spectral unmixing, imaging of in vitro samples, plants, and chick embryo models.

This week is Nobel Prize week. As an immunologist, I am particularly pleased that the Nobel Prize in Medicine or Physiology was awarded to Mary E. Brunkow, Fred Ramsdell and Shimon Sakaguchi for their discoveries of peripheral tolerance (click "read more" for link)

The consultation deadline for the multi-campus model has passed, and now work is underway to get a good plan in place. Gottfried Greve is the new project manager for Vestlandslegen and comes to the process with extensive experience, which gives us the confidence that we will find a good solution for the study plan going forward. I recommend that you read through it, there are several issues on the agenda that concern us at K2 (including evaluation and proposals for organizing the financial services, new curriculum for the integrated master's program in pharmacy, mandate for a review of the core facilities).

We are collaborating with the Bergen International Film Festival (BIFF) from 15-23 October, with the Gulluglen competition, debates, an exhibition, free film screenings for employees and much more. Many employees and students are involved in the festival, and these groups also receive discounted ticket prices.

Invitation to give a speech at Teachers' Day 2026

Teachers' Day will be held on January 30, 2026. We hereby invite academic communities from all faculties and departments to submit lectures, seminars, workshops and other academic contributions that profile current research at UiB. We therefore want this information to be disseminated to all relevant academic communities at both faculty and department.

We need to strengthen our mental preparedness

This year's campaign invites a joint effort to strengthen our mental resilience in turbulent times.

Do what over 3,300 workplaces, schools, organizations and other businesses across the country did last year – put mental preparedness on the agenda from weeks 39–42 this fall!
