All employees at UiB must have completed fire safety training, which consists of a digital fire safety course and practical extinguishing. This requirement is stipulated in the Fire Act and the HSE Regulations.
Digital fire protection course
The digital course takes approximately 30 minutes and can be completed at a time that suits you.

Practical extinguishing course
The practical part is carried out by Teknisk Industrivern AS and is now free for all employsWe recommend to take this course, as it provides valuable experience in handling fire in a real situation.
The course lasts approximately 1 hour and is held at the square between the Maritime Museum and Sydnesplass 7 (HF building). You register yourself via scheduled course dates.
In spring 2026, the following dates are offered:

• 6. mai kl. 10:00–11:00 og 12:00–13:00
If a group wishes to take the course together, Teknisk Industrivern can be contacted to arrange a separate time.
We encourage all employees to complete fire safety training during the year. The practical course may be full, so it may be a good idea to register early.
