Seminarserien vil finne sted online fra 12.00-13.00 CET en gang i måneden, med start 5. februar 2025 med en forelesning av professor Magnus Essand. Tittel på presentasjonen: “Novel cell and gene therapies for the treatment of cancer – The Uppsala experience”.
Magnus Essand tok sin doktorgrad ved Uppsala Universitet, Uppsala, Sverige i 1995 og sin postdoktorale utdanning ved National Cancer Institute, Bethesda, USA. Han returnerte til Sverige i 2000, først som førsteamanuensis og fra 2009 som professor ved Institutt for immunologi, genetikk og patologi, Uppsala Universitet. Essand har veiledet tolv doktorgradsstudenter til fullføring av deres doktorgradsavhandling og er for tiden hovedveileder for fire doktorgradsstudenter og fem postdoktorer. Han har publisert mer enn 100 originale fagfellevurderte vitenskapelige forskningsartikler.

The seminar series will take place online 12.00-13.00 CET once every month starting 5 February 2025 with a lecture by Professor Magnus Essand. Title of presentation: “Novel cell and gene therapies for the treatment of cancer – The Uppsala experience”
Magnus Essand obtained his PhD at Uppsala University, Uppsala, Sweden in 1995 and his postdoctoral training at the National Cancer Institute, Bethesda, USA. He returned to Sweden in 2000, first as an Associate Professor and from 2009 as a full Professor at the Department of Immunology, Genetics and Pathology, Uppsala University. Essand has tutored twelve PhDs to the completion of their doctoral thesis and is currently the main supervisor of four PhD students and five postdocs. He has published more than 100 original peer-reviewed scientific research articles.
