Dear everyone!
I have the great pleasure of announcing this year's Falch Lecturer, Professor Ole A. Andreassen. Professor Andreassen has played a central role in increasing the understanding of serious mental disorders, especially schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. Through the establishment of biobanks and national databases, Andreassen has laid the foundation for extensive interdisciplinary and international analyses.
The tools and methods developed by his research group are currently widely used internationally and have been crucial for several groundbreaking discoveries in neuropsychiatric research and complex diseases in general. The Falch lecture "From Genes to Clinic: Precision Medicine Using Scandinavian Population Data" will be held on 11 September at 11:00, Auditorium 1 at BBB. Everyone is welcome!
As a follow-up to Nina's leader last week regarding Vestlandslegen, I can only encourage everyone involved to dialogue and interaction across campus boundaries, we have some earmarked funds that can be used to cover costs associated with travel and meetings.
And finally: the application deadline for the recruitment positions is approaching, but it is not too late yet. So if you have a good candidate for either a PhD or postdoc position, do not hesitate to apply.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Silke
