Become a blood donor – save lives in half an hour

Donating blood only takes half an hour, but can save up to three lives. If you are healthy and between the ages of 18 and 60, you can register as a blood donor.

Where can you donate blood? Blood donors can show up at Haukeland University Hospital or on the Blood Bus.

  • Haukeland University Hospital: Enter the Central Building, take the elevator to the 3rd floor and follow the signs to the Blood Bank.
  • Blood bus: See the "Blood Bank" app for updated stops and times.

Opening hours Haukeland University Hospital:

  • Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday: at 07.30–15.00
  • Wednesday: 12:00–19:00
  • Saturday and Sunday: closed

About the Blood Bank Health Bergen The Blood Bank at Bergen Health is the largest blood bank in Western Norway, with operations at Haukeland University Hospital and Blodbussen. The department has over 100 employees, including bioengineers, nurses, health secretaries, doctors, office staff and assistants.
