Introduction: Ester Kringeland, postdoctoral fellow and cardiologist

Time:: Monday 29 September from 12.00 to 13.00

Place: Room 9.1 and 9.2, The lab building

Ester Kringeland is a postdoctoral fellow and cardiologist at the Center for Research on Heart Disease in Women

and at the Heart Department Haukeland University Hospital, Health West. Kringeland is researching how

blood pressure and other lifestyle factors in midlife affect the risk of heart disease in women.

Did you know that acute heart failure can be triggered by strong emotions or stress – and that it most often affects women?

On Monday, September 29, Ester Kringeland will give a talk about Broken Heart Syndrome. This condition, also known as Takotsubo syndrome, was first described in 1990 and is characterized by sudden heart failure that is often confused with a heart attack – but which requires different treatment. Join us for an exciting lecture where you will gain insight into a disease that particularly affects women.

The seminar is organized by the Center for Research on Heart Disease in Women.

Everyone is welcome!
