TNNN – national research school for micro- nano-science – abstract submission and registration

We are happy to announce that the registration for the  4th annual Conference of the National Micro- Nano- science Research School (TNNN) is now open.

The conference will be held at the UiT campus in Tromsø, June 11-13, 2025.  The conference will begin with lunch on Wednesday, June 11, and will end on Friday, June 13, at approximately 16:00.

IMPORTANT:    
1) To qualify for the accommodation grant or to take advantage of the very reasonable hotel rate if you are not a PhD student, you must register before April 7th.
2) Abstract submission deadline for contributed presentations and/or posters is on the 5th of May.

Accommodation grants and the conference fee:  We have reserved a limited number of rooms at Comfort Hotel Xpress Tromsø. TNNN will cover the hotel accommodation for PhD members from outside of Tromsø for the two nights during the conference. To qualify for this accommodation support you must register for the conference before the 7th of April.

TNNN will also cover the conference fee for PhD candidates and postdoctoral researchers who are members of the TNNN Research School. For other participants, the conference fee is 2000NOK. Payment link will be sent by email after you have registered.

Call for research funding from the Gade Legat

The Gade Legat announces funding for use in research in pathology, microbiology and immunology. Anyone who is academically affiliated with a research environment at UiB or Haukeland University Hospital in pathology, immunology or microbiology can apply for funding. The application must be brief and contain:

  • Name of applicant and place of work
  • Name and brief description of the project for which funding is sought
  • Budget
  • The application must not exceed 2 pages in total

In recent years, the legat has awarded amounts in the range of NOK 20-100,000, but larger allocations may be considered. Support for travel where you do not disseminate/present your own research will not be prioritised.

Application deadline is Friday 16 May 2025

The seminar is organized by the Center for Research on Heart Disease in Women.

Trine Moholdt is a graduate in exercise physiology and physiotherapist. She works as a researcher at NTNU where she leads the research group Exercise, Cardiometabolic Health, and Reproduction (ExCaR). Her work focuses on how exercise and nutrition can prevent and treat cardiometabolic diseases in women of reproductive age. Moholdt has received several prestigious awards and grants, including the Future Leader in Diabetes Award and an ERC starting grant for research into how exercise affects breast milk.
