The Coimbra Group has established a scholarship programme that enables young researchers from outside the EU to conduct part of their research at a Coimbra Group university. More than 20 universities participated in the programme in 2022. The University of Bergen will join this initiative from 2025.

Participation in the programme is a means to strengthen the University of Bergen’s increased focus on Africa. The University of Bergen will participate in the Coimbra Group scholarship programme by offering two scholarships with a duration of 1 to 3 months.

We are very happy to invite you to our first annual KG Jebsen Centre for Myeloid Blood Cancer (c-myc) Single Cell Satellite Seminar at Solstrand Hotel May 12th. The seminar is a satellite to the 13^thCCBIO Annual Symposium the following two days. The venue for both events is Solstrand Hotel near Bergen where you’ll have opportunities to connect with colleagues and engage in scientific for three days of cutting-edge science.

Focusing on single cell biology, we have put together an exciting program featuring renowned national and international speakers. Please see the program here. We will also have an opportunity for attendees to present posters to catalyze scientific discussions. The day will be wrapped up with an informal dinner buffe combined with a poster session and best poster award.

The subsidized registration fee for academic participants is 1500 NOK/150 Euro per person for the seminar and the overnight stay with full board. We have a limited capacity for participation and accommodation, and we strongly recommend everyone to register early. When you register online, please let us know if you would like to share a room and specify your preferred roommate.

In 2024, Norway received new dietary advice. Among other things, they recommend us to eat more fruit and vegetables and less red and processed meat. Eating and producing more fruit and vegetables is good for public health, the degree of self-sufficiency and the climate – yet we lack a policy to succeed with the green food transition.
We invite conversations about how we can get people to eat in line with the dietary guidelines. What should politicians do? What is the responsibility of the food industry? What responsibility do we as consumers have?

The Norwegian Cancer Society invites you to a digital information and collaboration meeting for applicants and administrative staff

The Norwegian Cancer Society aims to support quality research nationwide, and therefore, a separate digital meeting is being organized for the research communities we believe has the potential to submit a higher number of applications. We extend an invitation to applicants and administrative/financial staff to attend an information session about the Norwegian Cancer Society’s main call for Researcher Projects. The meeting will be on Teams.

The meeting will take place on Tuesday, 4th March kl. 12:30 – 14:00.

The purpose of this meeting is to provide information about the call and address questions early in the year, allowing sufficient time for preparations before the application deadline on 27th May. The annual information meetings for all applicants and administrative staff will continue to be held (in addition) closer to the application deadline.
