SIU announces funds for four programs for cooperation in graduate education with North America, The High North, Russia and Eurasia.
Eurasia-, North Americans, High North and Nordic-Russian cooperation programs support educational partnerships that are anchored by academic institutions. For example one can get support to exchange students and researchers, develop joint courses and study programs and hold seminars, workshops and the like.
All programs support activities that tie education closer to the labor market, for example through practice mobility. In the North America program it is a requirement that the projects have a partner from the public or private sector.

The High North program
The High North program supports education projects between higher education institutions in Norway and Canada, Japan, China, Russia, South Korea and the United States. The institutions can apply for up to 1.5 million NOK for long-term, three-year projects, and up to 300,000 NOK for projects that last for two years. The total scope of the announcement is 22 million NOK. The announcement support projects that contribute to more knowledge about the High North.

Project funding for cooperation with North America
Norwegian higher education institutions can apply for funding for educational cooperation with institutions in the United States and Canada. The announcement prioritizes applications that couple education and work / business in a positive way. The institutions can apply for up to 200 000 NOK to projects that last for18 months. The total scope of the announcement is 2.4 million NOK.

The Nordic-Russian cooperation program
Norwegian higher education institutions that wish to establish or develop a network collaboration with graduate education institutions in other Nordic countries and Russia may seek support through the Nordic-Russian cooperation program. The institutions can apply for support of up to EUR 50 000 for Nordic participation in one-year projects. The total scope of the announcement is 445,000 euros.
Application deadline is 23 September 2015 kl. 15.00 Norwegian time.

Eurasia Program
The Eurasia program supports education projects between higher education institutions in Norway and in Ukraine, Moldova, Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Belarus and Tajikistan. Ministry of Foreign Affairs and SIU in June signed an agreement of a new program period for the Eurasia program for 2015-2020. It is planned several announcements in this period – the first is already published. This announcement is for multiannual projects from 2016 – 2019 and has a budget of 45 million NOK.
Application deadline is October 26, 2015 kl. 15.00 Norwegian time. Deadline for seed funding is September 1st 2015.

About SIU
Centre for International Education (SIU) is a government agency under the Ministry of Education (KD), located in Bergen.
SIU is a competence center that promotes internationalization, cultural communication and international mobility in their studies, as well as coordinating national measures in accordance with official guidelines for policy in this field. The center is Council office for international programs and initiatives for several public assignments donors and programs towards primary education. SIU also has responsibility to promote Norway as an education nation and work-nation for researchers.
