PhD candidates at the University of Bergen now have the opportunity to test their communication skills in the international Three Minute Thesis (3MT) competition. The competition challenges participants to present their research in just three minutes, with only one static slide as visual support, to a general audience.
3MT was established at the University of Queensland in 2008 and has since grown into an international phenomenon. Networks such as the Coimbra Group and SANORD organize annual finals. To select the UiB representative, PhD candidates from all disciplines are invited to an internal competition.
UiB's 3MT competition will take place on March 24 at 1:00 PM in Storsalen, Nygårdsgaten 5 (NG5), Bergen. The event will be held physically, filmed and judged by a jury with expertise in research communication.
The winner will receive a gift certificate of 1,500 kroner, while two other finalists will receive 1,000 kroner each. In addition, UiB's representative can qualify for international finals with covered travel and accommodation – and the opportunity to win cash prizes of up to 2,000 euros.
Application deadline: February 12th. Søk her.
