New research project delves into violence and threats in schools

How should teachers intervene against students who behave violently or threateningly in the classroom?

In recent years, this issue has received increased attention in the public debate. This summer the Education Act was changed to clarify when teachers can intervene physically to stop disruptions or verbal attacks.

Professor Anna Nylund at the Faculty of Law has conducted extensive research on children's law and is responsible for this subject area.

She recently became awarded 8.1 million in support from the Research Council to the research project "Include" (Inclusive Educational Rights: Balancing Rights of Violent Children, Their Peers and Educators).
