Welcome to our new colleague

Ida Wiig Sørensen holds a 20% position as Associate Professor at the Department of Clinical Medicine 2 (K2). She is a specialist in medical genetics and Head of Section at the Section for Clinical Genetics, Department of Medical Genetics at Haukeland University Hospital.

Ida is a former research track student at the University of Bergen and earned her PhD at the Department of Biomedicine in 2015. She has a research background in matrix biology and basic biochemistry, but her current interests are more clinically oriented. These include clinical genetics, prenatal diagnostics, and patient-centered healthcare services. Together with PhD candidate Andrea F. Krohn-Hansen at VID, she leads the DIANA study, which investigates informed choices and potential regret among women offered trisomy screening in the Bergen Health Trust.
