Twelve PhD candidates from the University of Bergen will compete to communicate their research in just three minutes when UiB organizes this year's final in the Three Minute Thesis (3MT).
The final will take place in the Main Hall at Nygårdsgaten 5, March 24th at 1:00 PM.
3MT is an international research communication competition where participants must present complex research projects in a clear and engaging way using just one static slide. Originally developed at the University of Queensland in 2008, the competition has since grown into a global phenomenon and is hosted by, among others, the Coimbra Group and SANORD.
Advances to international finals
The winner of the UiB internal final will go on to compete for a place in both the Coimbra Group international final at the University of Granada and during the SANORD conference at the University of Namibia. The top three participants will also receive gift certificates.
The event is open to employees, students and other interested parties who want to cheer on UiB's researchers. Candidates from all disciplines at the university are invited to take part in this year's competition.
A jury with expertise in research communication and scientific presentation will assess the candidates. The jury is chaired by Pro-Rector for Research Education and Internationalization, Kristoffer Chelsom Vogt.
