Folkeuniversitetet trenger kurslederFolkeuniversitetet is seeking a course leader
Folkeuniversitetet skal avholde kurs i nasjonale fag for utenlandsk
helsepersonell 24.-26. mars og 2.-5. juni. Kurslederen måtte melde avbud, og Folkeuniversitetet hastesøker derfor etter en ny kursleder. Kursleder skal bare forelese noen få timer (ca. 4 timer i Oppbygging og organisering av helsetjenesten). Mesteparten av forelesningene foregår på lyd/bilde eller av andre lokale forelesere med jus som fagfelt. Likevel trenger de en kursleder som er der alle tre + to dager for å sy sammen, svare på spørsmål, organisere gruppeoppgaver og lede diskusjoner.

Folkeuniversitetet will hold a course in national subjects for foreign health workers March 24-26 and June 2-5. The course leader had to cancel, so Folkeuniversitetet is now seeking a replacement. The course leader will only lecture for a few hours (4 hours about the organization of the health services). Most of the lectures will be held with sound/image, or by other local lecturers in the field of law. Even so, they need a course leader who can be there all 3+2 days to organize, answer questions and lead discussions.

IT-Forum 2014 søker presentasjonsholdereIT-Forum 2014 are seeking presenters
IT-forum 2014 arrangeres mandag 7. og tirsdag 8. april ved Solstrand Hotel & Bad på Os. IT-forum er en årlig konferanse for de som bruker og leverer IT-tjenester ved Universitetet i Bergen, og deres lokale og regionale samarbeidspartnere. I år er hovedtemaet: «Hva må IT levere for at UiB skal nå sine mål? Informasjonsteknologi kan gi oss bedre forskning, formidling og undervisning, men hvordan?»
De ønsker forslag på fagpersoner som kan tenkes å holde et innlegg om hvilke IT-behov forskningsmiljøene har. I tillegg ønsker de navn på personer som kan være aktuelle i en paneldebatt rundt det samme emnet. De ber om en snarlig tilbakemelding på aktuelle kandidater som de kan kontakte. IT-Forum is an annual seminar for those who use and deliver IT-services at UoB, and their local and regional collaborators. This year the theme is “What do IT have to do to get UoB to reach their goals? Information technology can give us better research, dissemination and teaching, but how?”
They need people who can hold a presentation about which IT-needs the research community has. In addition, they need panel members for debates about the same issue. They ask for a quick feedback about potential candidates that they can contact.

Studie publisert i Nature GeneticsStudy published in Nature Genetics
Pål Rasmus Njølstad, leder for KG Jebsen Senter for Diabetesforskning, har vært involvert i en studie som har resultert i en publikasjon akseptert i Nature Genetics. Studiet viser at sjeldne genmutasjoner beskytter mot type 2 diabetes.
