[:no]Denne uken ble det kjent at Clara Gjesdal blir ny viseadministrerende direktør på HUS. Sett fra fakultetets og K2 sitt ståsted er dette et meget godt valg.
Clara har i flere år vært avdelingsdirektør på Revmatologisk avdeling. I tillegg er hun 1. amanuensis på K2. Clara beholder bi-stillingen på K2 også etter at hun nå er blitt viseadministrerende direktør.  I sin gamle stilling på revmatologen har Clara både i holdning og handling vist at hun ønsker et godt samarbeid mellom fakultetet og sykehuset. Et godt samarbeid mellom HUS og MOF er viktig for begge parter, også for å demme opp for innflytelse og dominans fra Oslo og Trondheim. Selv om samarbeidet stort sett fungerer bra, er det på flere områder potensiale for forbedringer. Den nye viseadministrerende direktøren vil være meget godt egnet og posisjonert for å bidra her.

Per[:en]This week it was announced that Clara Gjesdal will take up the position as vice chair at Haukeland University Hospital. From the point of view of the faculty and K2, this is very good news.

Clara has been head of the Department of Rheumatology for several years and has also held a position as associate professor at K2. She will keep her associate professorship at K2 also after taking up her new position at the hospital. In her previous job at the Department of Rheumatology she has clearly shown that she favors close collaboration between the hospital and the faculty. A good relationship between the two institutions is important for both parts and also to counteract the influence and dominance of Oslo and Trondheim. Even if the collaboration between the hospital and faculty works well, there are several areas at which there is room for improvement. The new vice chair is very well suited and positioned to contribute to this.

Brannvernopplæring 19. mai

Alle ansatte ved UiB skal ha gjennomført brannvernopplæring, teori og
praksis. Dette er lovfestet i brannloven og HMS forskriften.
Kurset går over 2 timer, 1 time teori og 1 time praktisk slukking.
UiB har engasjert Teknisk industrivern AS til å gjennomføre dette.

Fire Safety Training 19 May

All employees at UiB must undergo fire safety training, theoretical and practical. This is enshrined in the fire law and safety regulations. The course runs over 2 hours, 1 hour theory and 1 hour practical extinction.
UiB has engaged Teknisk Industrivern AS to conduct the course.

[:no]Vi inviterer prosjektledere til å søke om forskningsmidler til prosjekter innen uhelbredelig brystkreft.
Pengene kommer fra innsamlede midler gjennom Rosa sløyfe-aksjonen i 2015. Kreftforeningen og Brystkreftforeningen er ansvarlige for aksjonen og utlysningen av forskningsmidlene. Hvert år velges et informasjonstema for kampanjen. I 2015 var temaet leve med uhelbredelig brystkreft.

The Olav Thon Foundation will for 2017 reserve NOK 20 million for grants to Nordic research collaboration in the field of medicine.

Vi anmoder om at utlysningen blir videreformidlet til vitenskapelig personale innen matematisk-naturvitenskapelige og medisinske fagområder, samt til studenter/studentforeninger innen disse fagområdene.

Fagmiljøene oppfordres til å nominere til Stiftelsens priser. Frist 1. september 2016.
