Kjære K2-medarbeider
Nei, det er ingen aprilspøk. Denne uken overtok jeg som instituttleder etter Pål, men bare for en kort periode – Pål har en kortvarig permisjon fram til 10. mai og jeg skal forsøke å yte samme gode service som han. Når det nå stunder mot påske er det på sin plass å takke alle K2-ansatt for innsatsen så langt i år. Det forskes og undervises i høyt tempo selv om ressursene er knappe. . Falchs juniorpris skal deles ut og forskningsgruppelederne bes fremme kandidater, se annonsering i dette nummeret av K2-nytt.
Så vil jeg benytte anledningen til å takke Maria Holmaas og resten av administrasjonen for sin formidable innsats med å holde hjulene i gang. K2 er en fantastisk arbeidsplass og har et enormt potensiale for god forskning og undervisning. Da er det bare å jobbe på og gjøre det som er bra enda bedre.
Jeg håper alle for mulighetene til å nyte noen fridager i påsken, og lade batteriene både med fysisk og muligens også åndelig føde. Krigen i Ukraina er en sterk påminning om at vi ikke kan ta frihet og demokrati for gitt.

Konstituert instituttleder[:en]Dear K2 employee
This week I took over as head of department after Pål, but only for a short period – Pål has a short leave until 10 May and I will try to provide the same good service as him in the meantime. Now that it is time for Easter, it is appropriate to thank all K2 employees for their efforts so far this year. Research and teaching are taking place at a high pace, even though resources are scarce. Falch’s Junior Prize will be awarded and the research group leaders are asked to promote candidates, see announcement in this issue of K2-news.
A special thank you to Maria Holmaas and the rest of the administration who are making a formidable effort to keep the wheels turning. K2 is a fantastic workplace and has an enormous potential for good research and teaching. Carry on and do what is good better.
I hope all of you all take the opportunity to enjoy some days off over Easter, and recharge your batteries with both physical and perhaps spiritual food. The war in Ukraine is a strong reminder that we cannot take freedom and democracy for granted.
