Jeg tillater meg \u00e5 sende en invitasjon til dere ifm at vi arrangerer et nasjonalt m\u00f8te her i Bergen tirsdag 10 november med tittel \u00abGenomics in current clinical practise\u00bb.
\nNy sekvenseringteknologi (test av alle dine gener i en pr\u00f8ve) er i ferd med \u00e5 n\u00e6rmest revolusjonere genetisk diagnostikk, og gentester er i ferd med \u00e5 bli en integrert del av diagnostisk rutine p\u00e5 flere felt. Utviklingen g\u00e5r raskere enn selv vi innenfor fagfeltet omtrent klarer \u00e5 henge med p\u00e5.<\/p>\n

Vi har f\u00e5tt tak i h\u00f8yprofilerte internasjonalt anerkjente foredragsholdere, og har satt sammen et program<\/a> som vil gi god oversikt over bruk av de \u00abnye\u00bb sekvenseringsteknikkene innenfor fostermedisin (diagnostikk av DNA i mors blod), i kreftdiagnostikk (diagnostikk av sjeldne arvelige tilstander og tumores), barnesykdommer og sjeldne arvelige lidelser. Lederen for datatilsynet kommer ogs\u00e5 og vil snakke om personvern ifht lagring av hele eksomer\/genomer, og det er foredrag som fokuserer p\u00e5 infrastruktur for h\u00e5ndtering og lagring av slike store menger data.<\/p>\n

Vi kommer til \u00e5 profilere m\u00f8tet ovenfor pressen, og h\u00e5per p\u00e5 god dekning, vi har tidligere hatt innslag fra v\u00e5re nasjonale m\u00f8ter p\u00e5 TV2-nyhetene flere ganger, og vil tro at det ogs\u00e5 for kommunikasjonsavdelingene ved sykehuset og universitetet kan v\u00e6re interessant \u00e5 delta.<\/p>\n

\nDear all,<\/p>\n

I allow myself to send an invitation to you in connection with that we organize a national meeting here in Bergen Tuesday, November 10, entitled «Genomics in current clinical practice.»
\nNew sequencing technology (testing all your genes in one sample) is about to revolutionize genetic diagnosis, and genetic testing is becoming an integral part of the diagnostic routine in several fields. The development is almost so fast that even people working in the field of genetics struggles to keep up.<\/p>\n

We have high profile internationally renowned speakers, and have put together a program<\/a> that will provide a good overview of the use of the «new» sequencing techniques within fetal medicine (diagnostics of DNA in maternal blood) in cancer diagnostics (diagnostics of rare hereditary conditions and tumors ), childhood diseases and rare genetic disorders. The head of the Data Protection Authority also comes and will talk about protection of privacy regarding storing complete exomes \/ genomes, and there are lectures that focus on infrastructure for handling and storage of such large amounts of data.<\/p>\n

We are going to promote the meeting in media, and hope for good coverage. Our national meetings have previously been reported on the TV2 news several times. We also believe that it can be of interest for the communication departments at the hospital and the university to participate.<\/p>\n

The meeting is held in collaboration with the Biotechnology Council and the Norwegian Society for Human Genetics.<\/p>\n
