{"id":5775,"date":"2015-02-06T12:26:01","date_gmt":"2015-02-06T11:26:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/k2info.w.uib.no\/?p=5775"},"modified":"2015-02-06T12:31:00","modified_gmt":"2015-02-06T11:31:00","slug":"forskerutdanning-ved-klinisk-institutt-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/k2info.w.uib.no\/nb_no\/2015\/02\/06\/forskerutdanning-ved-klinisk-institutt-2\/","title":{"rendered":"<!--:no-->Forskerutdanning ved Klinisk institutt 2<!--:--><!--:en-->Research Training at Department of Clinical Science<!--:-->"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><!--:no--><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/k2info.w.uib.no\/files\/2013\/11\/produktbilde_1__Jonsson0x2c_Roland-e1403268567613.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-801 size-thumbnail\" src=\"http:\/\/k2info.w.uib.no\/files\/2013\/11\/produktbilde_1__Jonsson0x2c_Roland-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"Roland Jonsson\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a>En gang for \u00e5ret m\u00e5 klinisk institutt 2 rapportere til fakultetet hva som har blitt utf\u00f8rt for \u00e5 forbedre kvaliteten p\u00e5 forskerutdanningen for v\u00e5re 140-145 aktive stipendiater.\u00a0 I 2013 rapporterte vi at organiseringen av pliktarbeidet for UiB-finansierte stipendiater m\u00e5tte forbedres, forskerskolene m\u00e5tte promoteres bedre, samt at instituttet burde ha \u00f8kt fokus p\u00e5 \u00e5 etablere nye forskerkurs, karriereplanlegging og mobilitet for stipendiatene.<\/p>\n<p>Har dette blitt fulgt opp?\u00a0 Ja, i stor grad.\u00a0 Rutinene for \u00e5 organisere pliktarbeidet (25%) for UiB-finansierte stipendiater har blitt mer ryddig.\u00a0 I henhold til forskerskolene har den nye seminarrekken \u00abPerspectives in translational medicine\u00bb blitt en stor suksess med spennende og interessante forelesninger organisert av Forskerskolen i Klinisk Medisin.\u00a0 Og Bergen Research School in Inflammation har etablert nye kurs (flowcytometri) og sett en \u00f8kning i antall p\u00e5meldte til immunologi kursene.<\/p>\n<p>I fremtiden vil det ogs\u00e5 bli en prioritet, i samarbeid med veilederne, \u00e5 sette fokus p\u00e5 karriereplanlegging og \u00f8kt mobilitet for stipendiatene gjennom for eksempel utveksling med andre grupper\/laboratorier.\u00a0 Noen av kandidatene v\u00e5re har hatt mulighet til \u00e5 reise p\u00e5 spennende utenlandsopphold, men dette burde ha v\u00e6rt mye mer implementert.\u00a0\u00a0 Det b\u00f8r ogs\u00e5 trekkes frem at forskningsgruppelederne oppfordres til \u00e5 ha \u00e5rlige m\u00f8ter med stipendiatene gjennom medarbeidersamtaler for slik \u00e5 kartlegge eventuelle problemer, misforst\u00e5elser utenom de \u00e5rlige framdriftsrapportene.<\/p>\n<p>Det har ikke v\u00e6rt et problem \u00e5 f\u00e5 ut doktorgradsavhandlinger ved klinisk institutt 2 i 2014; totalt har 23 kandidater fullf\u00f8rt en doktorgrad og avlagt disputas.\u00a0 I tillegg er det generelt gode forhold mellom veilederne og stipendiatene med kun et par avvik\/problemer, og disse har blitt tatt tak i.\u00a0 S\u00e5 vi er p\u00e5 riktig spor. . .<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Roland<\/p>\n<p><!--:--><!--:en--><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/k2info.w.uib.no\/files\/2013\/11\/produktbilde_1__Jonsson0x2c_Roland-e1403268567613.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-801\" src=\"http:\/\/k2info.w.uib.no\/files\/2013\/11\/produktbilde_1__Jonsson0x2c_Roland-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"Roland Jonsson\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a>On an annual basis Department of Clinical Science has to report to the Faculty about what has been done to favour quality of the doctoral education and training for our 140-145 active PhD trainees. For 2013 we reported that the mandatory part of the UiB fellowships had to be checked up, on promotion of the research schools, to establish new research training courses and an increased focus on career planning and mobility of our candidates. \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Has this been followed up? Yes, to a major extent. The routines for handling the mandatory part (25%) of the UiB fellowships have been better organized. Regarding the research schools the new seminar series \u201cPerspectives in translational medicine\u201d has become a success with challenging and appealing lectures in the Bergen Postgraduate School of Clinical Medicine Research. And the Bergen Research School of Inflammation has established new courses (flowcytometry) and seen an increase in attendance at their immunology courses.<\/p>\n<p>For the future it will also be a priority for both the PhD candidates and with the help from supervisors to plan the coming careers as well as increase the mobility e.g. visits with other groups\/laboratories. Some of our candidates have got really interesting international visits, but this could have been much more implemented. It should also be emphasised that the research group leaders are encouraged to have meetings with the PhD candidates annually e.g. \u201cmedarbeidersamtaler\u201d to pick up problems, misunderstandings etc. and not only the regular progress reports.<\/p>\n<p>There has been no failure of PhD theses at Department of Clinical Science in 2014; a total of 23 candidates have finalized their theses with a public defence. Also the interaction between supervisors and PhD candidates has been smooth with only a few misunderstandings\/problems, and these have been sorted out.
