Etter seks \u00e5r ved roret for<span lang=\"NO-BOK\"> K2<\/span>, har jeg besluttet \u00e5 tre tilbake fra stillingen som <span lang=\"NO-BOK\">Instituttleder<\/span>. Denne avgj\u00f8relsen <span lang=\"NO-BOK\">var <\/span>ikke <span lang=\"NO-BOK\">lett \u00e5 ta og var etter <\/span>n\u00f8ye vurdering av kravene og ansvaret som f\u00f8lger med \u00e5 lede en s\u00e5 dynamisk og innflytelsesrik avdeling.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>V\u00e5r<span lang=\"NO-BOK\">t<\/span> <span lang=\"NO-BOK\">institutt <\/span>har vokst betydelig i l\u00f8pet av min tid som leder. Med 382 dedikerte ansatte, inkludert 70 heltidsprofessorer og <span lang=\"NO-BOK\">f\u00f8rsteamanuenser<\/span>, 80 <span lang=\"NO-BOK\">bistillinger<\/span>, <span lang=\"NO-BOK\">over 180 forskere, post docs og PhD-studenter samt 50 teknisk og administrativt ansatte <\/span>har vi gjort store fremskritt innen <span lang=\"NO-BOK\">klinisk- og <\/span>translasjon<span lang=\"NO-BOK\">s<\/span>forskning.<span lang=\"NO-BOK\"> Dette medf\u00f8rer at vi i 2023 hadde publikasjoner i de aller beste tidsskriftene og satte rekord for ekstern finansiering: 121 mill. kr. Dere underviser en rekke kliniske spesialiteter innen medisin i tillegg til farmasi og ern\u00e6ring p\u00e5 en forbilledlig m\u00e5te. Og dere har n\u00e5dd opp i konkurransen om \u00e5 etablere flere nye og sterke forskningssentre. <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>Likevel, i takt med \u00f8kende krav til ledelse, befinner jeg meg ved et veiskille. \u00c5 balansere ansvaret som b\u00e5de <span lang=\"NO-BOK\">Instituttleder <\/span>og <span lang=\"NO-BOK\">leder <\/span>for Mohn<span lang=\"NO-BOK\"> S<\/span>enter for <span lang=\"NO-BOK\">d<\/span>iabetes <span lang=\"NO-BOK\">p<\/span>resisjonsmedisin har v\u00e6rt krevende. Streben etter fremragende <span lang=\"NO-BOK\">resultater <\/span>krever fokus, og jeg <span lang=\"NO-BOK\">har f\u00f8lt<\/span> det er p\u00e5 tide \u00e5 overlate stafettpinnen til en ny leder som kan fortsette \u00e5 drive <span lang=\"NO-BOK\">instituttet<\/span> v\u00e5r<span lang=\"NO-BOK\">t<\/span>fremover.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>Jeg er utrolig stolt av det vi har oppn\u00e5dd sammen. V\u00e5r samarbeids\u00e5nd, dedikasjon til pasientomsorg og banebrytende forskning har satt dype spor. N\u00e5r jeg n\u00e5 trer tilbake, er jeg trygg p\u00e5 at <span lang=\"NO-BOK\">K2<\/span> vil fortsette \u00e5 blomstre under ny ledelse.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>Jeg <span lang=\"NO-BOK\">slutter 300424 og vil i tiden fremover gradvis <\/span>overf\u00f8re mine ansvarsomr\u00e5der til <span lang=\"NO-BOK\">Eystein Husebye som fungerende instituttleder<\/span>. <span lang=\"NO-BOK\">Stillingen lyses ut i disse dager. Men dere skal v\u00e6re trygge p\u00e5 at <\/span>jeg fortsatt <span lang=\"NO-BOK\">f\u00f8ler meg <\/span>forpliktet til v\u00e5r felles misjon, og jeg ser frem til \u00e5 bidra til avdelingen p\u00e5 nye m\u00e5ter. Min avgj\u00f8relse er ikke et farvel, men heller en endring i roller \u2013 en som lar meg fokusere p\u00e5 det spennende arbeidet som skjer ved Mohn-senteret.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>Jeg uttrykker takknemlighet til hver av dere for deres st\u00f8tte og dedikasjon. Sammen har vi gjort en forskjell i pasientenes liv og <span lang=\"NO-BOK\">i <\/span>fremtiden for medisin. La oss fortsette \u00e5 samarbeide, <span lang=\"NO-BOK\">v\u00e6re innovative<\/span> og inspirere. Takk for at dere <span lang=\"NO-BOK\">har v\u00e6rt <\/span>en del av denne<span lang=\"NO-BOK\"> fantastiske <\/span>reisen.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong><span lang=\"NO-BOK\">\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><strong style=\"font-size: 1rem\">P\u00e5 vei inn i et nytt kapittel <\/strong><strong style=\"font-size: 1rem\"><span lang=\"NO-BOK\">for K2<\/span><\/strong><strong style=\"font-size: 1rem\">, er jeg begeistret for \u00e5 kunngj\u00f8re to nye til<\/strong><strong style=\"font-size: 1rem\"><span lang=\"NO-BOK\">skudd<\/span><\/strong><strong style=\"font-size: 1rem\"> til v\u00e5rt lederteam:<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Professor Svein Skeie<\/strong>: <span lang=\"NO-BOK\">E<\/span>ndokrinolog og Forskningsleder ved Stavanger Universitetss<span lang=\"NO-BOK\">ju<\/span>kehus<span lang=\"NO-BOK\">. <\/span>Skeie p\u00e5ta<span lang=\"NO-BOK\">r<\/span> seg rollen som Leder for Stavanger-relasjoner. Hans dype forst\u00e5else av <span lang=\"NO-BOK\">ledelse, <\/span>klinisk praksis og forskning vil tjene som en verdifull forbindelse mellom v\u00e5re institusjoner. <span lang=\"NO-BOK\">Et \u00f8kende s<\/span>amarbeid med Stavanger Universitetss<span lang=\"NO-BOK\">ju<\/span>kehus <span lang=\"NO-BOK\">vil <\/span>styrke v\u00e5re b\u00e5nd og fremme innovative initiativer.<\/p>\n<div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Professor Silje Skrede<\/strong>: <span lang=\"NO-BOK\">Hun er farmakolog, har erfaring fra undervisningsadministrasjon og<\/span> <span lang=\"NO-BOK\">farmakologisk forskning. Hun blir Leder for innovasjon slik at K2s fokus p\u00e5 dette viktige omr\u00e5det blir styrket. After six years at the helm of the Department of Clinical Science, I have decided to step down from my position as Department Head. This decision has not been taken lightly, but rather with careful consideration of the demands and responsibilities that come with leading such a dynamic and impactful department.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Our department, a hub of research and teaching excellence, has grown significantly during my tenure. With 382 dedicated employees, including 70 full-time professors and associated professors, 80 part-time professors and associated professors, over 180 researchers, podt docs and PhD students as well as 50 technicians and administrative staff , we have made significant strides in advancing clinical and translational medical research. This means that in 2023, we had publications in top-tier journals and set a record for external funding<strong>:\u00a0<\/strong><strong>121 million NOK<\/strong><strong>.<\/strong> You teach a variety of clinical specialties in addition to pharmacy and nutrition in an exemplary manner. And you have excelled in the competition to establish several new and robust research centers.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">However, as the demands of leadership have intensified, I find myself at a crossroads. Balancing the responsibilities of both Department Head and Director of the Mohn Center of Diabetes Precision Medicine has been challenging. The pursuit of excellence requires focus, and I believe it is time to pass the torch to a new leader who can continue to push our department forward.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">I am immensely proud of what we have achieved together. Our collaborative spirit, dedication to patient care, and groundbreaking research have left an indelible mark. As I step down, I am confident that the department will continue to thrive under new leadership.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">I will be stepping down on\u00a0<strong>April 30, 2024<\/strong>, and in the coming period, I will gradually transfer my responsibilities to\u00a0<strong>Eystein Husebye<\/strong>, who will serve as the Acting Department Head. Rest assured, I remain committed to our shared mission, and I look forward to contributing to the department in new ways. My decision is not a farewell but rather a shift in roles\u2014one that allows me to focus on the exciting work happening at the Mohn Center.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">I extend my heartfelt gratitude to each of you for your unwavering support and dedication. Together, we have made a difference in the lives of patients and the future of medicine. Let us continue to collaborate, innovate, and inspire.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Thank you for being part of this remarkable journey.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">As we embark on a new chapter at the Department of Clinical Science, I am thrilled to announce two additions to our leadership team:<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\"><strong>Professor Svein Skeie, MD, PhD<\/strong>: An accomplished endocrinologist and Head of Research at Stavanger University Hospital, Svein Skeie will assume the role of Leader of Stavanger Relations. His deep understanding of leadership, clinical practice, and research will serve as a valuable link between our institutions. The collaboration with Stavanger University Hospital promises to strengthen our ties and foster innovative initiatives.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\"><strong>Professor Silje Skrede, MD, PhD<\/strong>: With a background in pharmacology and administrative work in teaching, Skrede joins us as Leader of Innovation which will strengthen our focus on this important field.
