I h\u00f8st gjennomf\u00f8rte vi for f\u00f8rste gang en introduksjonsuke og undervisningsopplegg for en pilotgruppe med studenter. Dette var basert p\u00e5 eksisterende undervisning ved UiB og i samarbeid med fagansvarlige i de ulike fagene. N\u00e5 st\u00e5r vi overfor evaluering og forbedring av dette opplegget, samtidig som vi forbereder oss p\u00e5 \u00e5 ta imot en st\u00f8rre gruppe studenter kommende h\u00f8st.<\/p>\n
Det som gj\u00f8r stillingen min inspirerende, er det banebrytende arbeidet med regional medisinutdanning. Dette konseptet er nytt b\u00e5de i Norge og i sammenlignbare naboland. Samarbeidet mellom Stavanger Universitetssjukehus og UiB kan bidra til \u00e5 \u00f8ke utdanningskapasiteten for leger i Norge. \u00c5 jobbe i et team med erfarne fagpersoner p\u00e5 tvers av fagomr\u00e5der mot denne m\u00e5lsettingen oppleves som inspirerende. Det er ogs\u00e5 en \u00e6re \u00e5 v\u00e6re involvert i utdanningen av ambisi\u00f8se medisinstudenter, med h\u00e5p om at de med tiden blir kolleger og arvtakere.<\/p>\n
Mitt \u00f8nske er \u00e5 bidra til at Universitetet i Bergen, i samarbeid med Vestlandslegen, kan utdanne kompetente leger som er godt forberedt p\u00e5 utfordringene de vil m\u00f8te som LIS-1. Jeg h\u00e5per at mitt engasjement vil resultere i vellykket gjennomf\u00f8ring av studentenes utdanning og at de finner en spesialisering som de trives med. Videre h\u00e5per jeg \u00e5 v\u00e6re en del av oppbyggingen av en campus som leverer h\u00f8ykvalitets undervisning, forskning og innovasjon. Samarbeidet p\u00e5 tvers av fagomr\u00e5der skal ogs\u00e5 legge grunnlaget for nye og spennende prosjekter. Jeg har flere egne prosjekter under planlegging, og jeg h\u00e5per at disse kommer i gang snart, samtidig som jeg ser frem til \u00e5 utvikle meg til \u00e5 bli professorkompetent.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

My name is Svein Joar Augl\u00e6nd Johnsen, and I specialize in internal medicine and rheumatology. Currently, I work at Department K2 as the coordinator for medical disciplines in Vestlandslegen, with my workplace located in Stavanger.<\/p>\n
In my current role as the coordinator for medical disciplines in Vestlandslegen, I collaborate closely with the coordinator for surgical disciplines and the instructors within specific sub-specialties. Together, we have developed a proposal for a new study program for the 4th to 6th years, aiming to integrate medical and surgical disciplines as effectively as possible. This involves teaching both gastroenterology and gastro-surgery in the same week, along with interdisciplinary instruction on specific topics such as surgery for inflammatory bowel disease.<\/p>\n
This fall, we conducted an introductory week and teaching program for a pilot group of students for the first time. This was based on existing instruction at UiB and in collaboration with responsible instructors in various fields. Now, we are facing the evaluation and improvement of this program, while also preparing to welcome a larger group of students next fall.<\/p>\n
What makes my position inspiring is the groundbreaking work in regional medical education. This concept is novel both in Norway and comparable neighboring countries. The collaboration between Stavanger University Hospital and UiB has the potential to increase the capacity for medical education in Norway. Working in a team with experienced professionals across disciplines towards this goal is inspiring. It is also an honor to be involved in the education of ambitious medical students, with the hope that they will become colleagues and successors over time.<\/p>\n
My goal is to contribute to the University of Bergen, in collaboration with Vestlandslegen, educating competent doctors well-prepared for the challenges they will face as LIS-1. I hope that my dedication will result in the successful completion of students’ education and that they find a specialization they enjoy. Furthermore, I hope to be part of building a campus that delivers high-quality education, research, and innovation. Collaboration across disciplines will also lay the foundation for new and exciting projects. I have several projects of my own in the planning stage, and I hope they will start soon, while I look forward to developing into a professorially competent individual.[:]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
