En av hovedbegrunnelsene er \u00e5 sikre en rettferdig bed\u00f8mming og karaktersetting. Det kan f\u00f8res en rekke argumenter <em>pro et con<\/em> for dette. Men vi m\u00e5 forholde oss til denne beslutningen og gj\u00f8re v\u00e5rt til at dette gjennomf\u00f8res p\u00e5 en skikkelig m\u00e5te. F\u00f8rste ordin\u00e6re OSCE-eksamen gjennomf\u00f8res onsdag 20. juni 2018 for 160 studenter. OSCE-eksamen er en stasjonsbasert eksamen (\u201dsirkel\u00f8velse\u201d) det alle studentene eksamineres p\u00e5 et gitt antall stasjoner.<\/p>\n<p>Som varslet siden april\/mai gjennomf\u00f8res den fjerde og siste pilot-OSCE onsdag 8. november, alts\u00e5 om vel en m\u00e5ned. Pr\u00f8vestudenter denne gangen er fra Kull 14B. De har i underkant av 3\u00bd \u00e5r bak seg, og er p.t. i andre indremedisinske termin i Medisin 2005. Det trengs denne gangen til sammen 39 eksaminatorer til 3 like sirkler \u00e1 13 stasjoner. Oppgavene er tilpasset det niv\u00e5et studentene befinner seg p\u00e5. Undervisere fra alle fagomr\u00e5der ved IBM, K1, K2 og IGS skal i st\u00f8rre og mindre grad delta som eksaminatorer. Det skal gjennomf\u00f8res elektronisk bed\u00f8mming med b\u00e6rbare maskiner p\u00e5 hver stasjon.<\/p>\n<p>Her er en kort orientering om bed\u00f8mming med utgangspunkt i en eksempeloppgave:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/k2info.w.uib.no\/files\/2017\/09\/K2nytt_2017_Uke-39_Ukens-leder_Kjetil-Grong_N_Bilde.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-12985\" src=\"http:\/\/k2info.w.uib.no\/files\/2017\/09\/K2nytt_2017_Uke-39_Ukens-leder_Kjetil-Grong_N_Bilde-300x225.png\" alt=\"k2nytt_2017_uke-39_ukens-leder_kjetil-grong_n_bilde\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" srcset=\"https:\/\/k2info.w.uib.no\/files\/2017\/09\/K2nytt_2017_Uke-39_Ukens-leder_Kjetil-Grong_N_Bilde-300x225.png 300w, https:\/\/k2info.w.uib.no\/files\/2017\/09\/K2nytt_2017_Uke-39_Ukens-leder_Kjetil-Grong_N_Bilde.png 514w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Oppgaven ble brukt i v\u00e5r som et eksempel fra undervisningen i nevrofysiologi. Objektiviteten sikres her ved at alle kandidatene vurderes og f\u00e5r poeng p\u00e5 de samme enkeltelementene i oppgaven, her maksimum 20 poeng. Totalvurdering (<em>Global score<\/em>) er eksaminators oppfatning av hvordan en gitt kandidat har gjennomf\u00f8rt denne oppgaven, egentlig uavhengig av poenggivning.<\/p>\n<p>Ved en s\u00e5kalt <em>Single borderline score regression analysis<\/em> plottes totalvurderingen p\u00e5 x-aksen og den enkelte studentens (her 68) poengsum p\u00e5 y-aksen. Hvis 40 prosent av poengene er d\u00e5rligste st\u00e5karakter, vil 6 kandidater stryke. Regresjonen justerer kravet til cirka 60 prosent, og 12 kandidater vil stryke. One of the main arguments for this is to secure a fairer evaluation and grading compared to the current clinical examinations. There are arguments both pro and con. However, we all must relate to this decision and make sure that these examinations are performed in a proper manner. The first ordinary OSCE examination will be on June 20th, 2018 for 160 medical students. The OSCE exam is a station-based exam (\u201ccircle exercise\u201d), and all students are examined at all stations.<\/p>\n<p>As announced since April\/May, the fourth and last pilot-OSCE examination will be on Wednesday November 8th (in about one month). The pilot medical students to be examined this time are from Class 14-B. They have been medical students for about 3\u00bd years by now. Altogether, 39 examiners are needed to run three parallel circles with 13 different active stations. Examiners from Departments of Biomedicine, Clinical Medcine, Clinical Science and Global Public Health and Primary Care will be more or less involved as examiners. There will be electronic and online assessment with laptop at each station.<\/p>\n<p>This is an example of the checklist for the examination in one of the stations used in the pilot examination in May this year:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/k2info.w.uib.no\/files\/2017\/09\/K2nytt_2017_Uke-39_Ukens-leder_Kjetil-Grong_N_Bilde.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-12985\" src=\"http:\/\/k2info.w.uib.no\/files\/2017\/09\/K2nytt_2017_Uke-39_Ukens-leder_Kjetil-Grong_N_Bilde-300x225.png\" alt=\"k2nytt_2017_uke-39_ukens-leder_kjetil-grong_n_bilde\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" srcset=\"https:\/\/k2info.w.uib.no\/files\/2017\/09\/K2nytt_2017_Uke-39_Ukens-leder_Kjetil-Grong_N_Bilde-300x225.png 300w, https:\/\/k2info.w.uib.no\/files\/2017\/09\/K2nytt_2017_Uke-39_Ukens-leder_Kjetil-Grong_N_Bilde.png 514w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>This example is related to the teaching in neurophysiology at the Departments of Biomedicine. The \u201cobjectivity\u201d is secured by evaluating all candidates and issuing points on each single question\/element in the checklist. A global score (<em>totalvurdering<\/em>) is the examiner\u2019s overall and general judgement and impression of the candidate\u2019s performance, independent of points actually obtained.<\/p>\n<p>By a <em>Single borderline score regression analysis,<\/em> the global evaluation (Not passed, Borderline, Sufficient, Good, Excellent) is plotted on the x-axis vs. the points scored for every student (in this example 68) on the y-axis. If a score of &gt; 40% of the points is preset as the limit for passing this station, 6 students have failed. In this example, the regression analysis will adjust the limit to ~ 60%, and 12 students will fail.
