This week marks an important milestone for K2: the first cohort of the final group of Vestlandslege-students is starting with us. These are the students who will continue to Haugesund in three years\u2019 time. This year\u2019s intake marks the last planned student cohort in the multi-campus model, meaning that there are now active students in all of the planned study pathways.

Two years ago, the Vestlandslege students who will complete their training in Stavanger began their studies, and these students will start the final three years of their programme in Stavanger next autumn. Last year, the Vestlandslege students who will complete the final three years in F\u00f8rde, starting in autumn 2028, began their studies. And this autumn, the final cohort begins, continuing to Haugesund from 2029 onwards. This year, all Vestlandslege pathways received more first-choice applicants than there were places available. In addition, 2029 will be the year when the old model is phased out, leaving us with just one medical degree programme to manage.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Another important milestone was the OSCE12 examination before the summer break, when we held a joint OSCE examination in Stavanger and Bergen for the first time. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We often talk about external funding and the need to increase our income through such sources. However, we must not forget that the foundation of K2 is our students, and from a financial perspective, medical students remain by far the most important group. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
