A proposed Center for Excellence in Research at UiB, iDIA, aims to change how we understand diabetes by taking personalized diagnostics and treatment to a new level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Diabetes is one of the world's fastest growing health challenges and remains a leading cause of illness and premature death.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to the World Health Organization, around 830 million people \u2013 about ten percent of the world's population \u2013 were living with some form of diabetes in 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Diabetes is a chronic condition in which the body either produces too little insulin or is unable to use insulin effectively.
