This talk highlights key barriers: fragmented funding, insufficient early validation, regulatory uncertainty, and poor incentives for prevention. We present SFI ICoN as a model designed to address these challenges by combining academic excellence with industrial partnerships, clinical relevance, and health technology innovation.
