The 2025\u20132030 strategic plan provides a clear direction for how we will strengthen our position as a leading medical research and education institution.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Research:<br \/>\n<\/strong>We aim to enhance both the quality of our scientific output and the level of external funding. Key initiatives include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Maintaining a high proportion of externally funded activities (BOA), with a target of 25% relative to total allocations.<\/li>\n<li>Increasing the use of open access publishing and prioritizing publications in high-impact (level 2) journals.<\/li>\n<li>Strengthening collaboration with research advisors, with a focus on competitive grant applications to NFR, ERC, EU, Helse Vest, TMS, KG Jebsen, and similar funding bodies.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Education:<br \/>\n<\/strong>We are committed to high-quality teaching and digital competence:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Providing training in digital platforms such as TP, Mitt UiB, and Inspera.<\/li>\n<li>Harmonizing study plans across regional hospitals to ensure a unified implementation of Vestlandslegen.<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 1rem\">Enhancing support for part-time academic staff at affiliated hospitals.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Innovation:<\/strong><br \/>\nWe promote both technological and social innovation:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a0Organizing annual FORUM meetings with innovation as a central theme.<\/li>\n<li>Encouraging participation in innovation arenas such as the Eitri Innovation Hub and Start Bergen.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Recruitment and Infrastructure<\/strong><br \/>\nWe will pursue strategic recruitment and capacity building, with a focus on academic merit and institutional needs:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Improving access to and visibility of technological platforms and equipment through searchable online resources.<\/li>\n<li>Strengthening research schools and academic networks.<\/li>\n<li>Offering research training courses and supervisor development programs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE)<\/strong><br \/>\nWe strive to be a safe, inclusive, and attractive workplace:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Conducting annual updates of the HSE handbook and action plan.<\/li>\n<li>Emphasizing the psychosocial work environment and ensuring a clear and supportive leadership structure.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Dissemination<\/strong><br \/>\nWe aim to increase the visibility of K2\u2019s activities and achievements:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a0Establishing regular meeting points between the communications advisor and research group leaders.<\/li>\n<li>Maintaining up-to-date websites and actively utilizing K2nytt.<\/li>\n<li>Enhancing our presence in the media, including newspapers, social media, and other public platforms.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This strategy is our shared roadmap\u2014and our success depends on collective effort.
