Vi taper ikke lenger h\u00f8yde og ligger n\u00e5 an til \u00e5 lande p\u00e5 det budsjetterte underskuddet. Mange har jobbet iherdig for \u00e5 f\u00e5 dette til, ikke minst Maria Holmaas og Beate Bernes. I tillegg har vi f\u00e5tt god hjelp av fakultetsledelsen.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Fremover blir jobben \u00e5 vinne h\u00f8ydemeter og bli kvitt underskuddet med de tiltakene jeg tidligere har skissert; mer forskning p\u00e5 mindre areal, mer undervisning med f\u00e6rre folk, flere EU og NFR-prosjekter og mindre andel 0-dekninsbidrag, omstrukturering, eventuelt nedleggelse av kjernefasiliteter.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Skal vi f\u00e5 dette til m\u00e5 alle v\u00e6re villig til \u00e5 \u00abta en for laget\u00bb. Det betyr at arbeidsoppgavene og byrdene m\u00e5 fordeles jevnere enn det som er tilfellet i dag. Det er ikke opp til den enkelte \u00e5 bestemme alle sine arbeidsoppgaver. Som underviser p\u00e5 universitetet kan du ikke si at, nei jeg vil ikke p\u00e5ta meg oppgaven som Ugle, eller jeg vil bare undervise p\u00e5 mitt smale spesialomr\u00e5de- resten f\u00e5r de andre ta seg av. Alle innen et fagomr\u00e5de m\u00e5 dele p\u00e5 Ugleoppgaven, du m\u00e5 kanskje vie litt mer tid og innsats til \u00e5 fornye undervisningen og p\u00e5ta deg undervisningsoppgaver og komiteoppgaver som du ikke er helt famili\u00e6r med \u2013 da blir arbeidsoppgavene jevnere fordelt.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Siden jeg ogs\u00e5 jobber p\u00e5 Medisinsk klinikk, f\u00e5r jeg anledning til \u00e5 oppleve en annen organisasjon. Hver morgen samles avdelingen til morgenm\u00f8te med rapport fra vaktd\u00f8gnet og de enkelte enhetene. Man kan tenke at det g\u00e5r bort mye tid til et slikt felles m\u00f8te, men dette m\u00f8tepunktet skaper et samhold og en lagf\u00f8lelse som gir seg utslag i at man tilbyr hjelp n\u00e5r noen er beit for folk eller trenger en ekstra h\u00e5nd til \u00e5 l\u00f8se en oppgave \u2013 det blir mer <strong>vi<\/strong> enn <strong>jeg<\/strong>. N\u00e5 er K2 en annen type organisasjon og jeg mener ikke at vi skal ha morgenm\u00f8ter, men lag\u00e5nden p\u00e5 Medisinsk klinikk er noe vi trenger \u00e5 tilegne oss for \u00e5 komme \u00e5 yte mer og trives bedre.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">S\u00e5 f\u00e5r alle bruke sommeren til \u00e5 tenke gjennom hvordan man kan bidra til en bedre lag\u00e5nd; sp\u00f8r ikke hva instituttet kan gj\u00f8re for deg \u2013 sp\u00f8r hva du kan gj\u00f8re for instituttet.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Helt til slutt, professor Silke Appel blir ny instituttleder og tiltrer s\u00e5 snart det er praktisk mulig, vi gratulerer og \u00f8nsker henne lykke til med arbeidet.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">God sommer<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Eystein Husebye<\/p>\n<p>[:en]<div id=\"attachment_23569\" style=\"width: 373px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-23569\" class=\"wp-image-23569\" src=\"https:\/\/k2info.w.uib.no\/files\/2024\/06\/Screenshot-2024-06-21-at-11.06.47.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"363\" height=\"468\" srcset=\"https:\/\/k2info.w.uib.no\/files\/2024\/06\/Screenshot-2024-06-21-at-11.06.47.png 604w, https:\/\/k2info.w.uib.no\/files\/2024\/06\/Screenshot-2024-06-21-at-11.06.47-233x300.png 233w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 363px) 100vw, 363px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-23569\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Foto: Ingvild Festervoll Melien<\/p><\/div><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Summer is just around the corner and in this last editorial before the holidays, I want to make some observations about economy and culture.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">At the start of the year, K2&#8217;s finances could resemble an airplane plunging towards the ground, but with persistent efforts we have succeeded in levelling the plane. We are no longer losing altitude and are now set to land on the budgeted deficit. Many have worked diligently to make this happen, not least Maria Holmaas and Beate Bernes. In addition, we have received good help from the faculty.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Going forward, the job will be to gain altitude and get rid of the deficit with the actions I have previously outlined; more research on less space, more teaching with fewer people, more EU and NFR projects and a relatively of 0-overhead grants, restructuring, possible closure of core facilities.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">If we are to achieve this, everyone must be willing to &laquo;take one for the team&raquo;. This means that the tasks and burdens must be distributed more evenly than is the case today. It is not up to the individual employee to decide all his or her work tasks. As a teacher at the university, you can&#8217;t say that, no, I don&#8217;t want to be UGLE, or I just want to teach my narrow area of specialization \u2013 my colleagues have to do the other work. Everyone in an area must share the UGLE task, you may have to devote a little more time and effort to renew your teaching and taking on teaching tasks that you are not entirely familiar with and sit on a committee not entirely relevant for you &#8211; then the work will be more evenly distributed.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Since I also work at the Department of Medicine, I get the opportunity to experience another organization. Every morning, the department gathers for a morning meeting with a report from the team on call and the individual units. One might think that a lot of time is wasted on such a joint meeting, but this meeting point creates a unity and a team spirit that translates into offering help when someone is short on staff or hands to solve a task \u2013 you grow into thinking more of <strong>us<\/strong> than <strong>me<\/strong>. Now, K2 is a different type of organization and I am not suggesting that we should have morning meetings, but the team spirit at Department of Medicine is something we need to acquire in order to perform and thrive better at K2.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Use the summer to think about how you can contribute to a better team spirit; \u00a0don&#8217;t ask what the department can do for you \u2013 ask what you can do for the department.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Finally, Professor Silke Appel will be the new Head of Department and will take office as soon as it is practically possible.
