Greenleaf p\u00e5 70-tallet.\u00a0 Hovedideen er at lederen skal tjene de ansatte og organisasjonen, og skiller seg fra tradisjonelt lederskap der lederens rolle er \u00e5 fremme organisasjonens interesser.<\/p>\n<p>En tjenende leder deler makt, setter de ansattes behov f\u00f8rst og hjelper mennesker med \u00e5 utvikle seg og prestere s\u00e5 godt som mulig. I stedet for at menneskene jobber for \u00e5 tjene lederen, eksisterer lederen for \u00e5 tjene folket. Greenleaf formulerte det slik: En tjenende leder m\u00e5 stille seg sp\u00f8rsm\u00e5let: &laquo;Vokser mine ansatte som personer? Blir de, mens de blir tjent, sunnere, klokere, friere, mer autonome, med st\u00f8rre sannsynlighet for selv \u00e5 bli tjenere?<\/p>\n<p>S\u00e5 er sp\u00f8rsm\u00e5let, har vi et tjenende lederskap ved UiB og for den del sykehuset vi er en integrert del av? Som vitenskapelig ansatt opplever jeg og mange andre at oppgaver andre tidligere gjorde for oss, n\u00e5 m\u00e5 gj\u00f8res av oss. Vi bruker mer og mer tid p\u00e5 dokumentasjon, fylle ut skjemaer, organisere undervisning og andre administrative oppgaver. Det oppleves som at det rundt oss sitter ulike administrative grupper som er mer opptatt av \u00e5 lede oss istedenfor \u00e5 tjene oss. Dette gj\u00f8r at vi har mindre tid til \u00e5 gj\u00f8re universitetets kjerneoppgaver, nemlig forskning, undervisning og formidling.<\/p>\n<p>Dette trenger vi en debatt omkring. Jeg hadde ikke Fredrik Solvang tilgjengelig, s\u00e5 som innledning spurte jeg ChapGPT om vi hadde tjenende lederskap ved UiB. Den svarte blant annet: \u00abDet er en \u00f8kende interesse for tjenende lederskap i h\u00f8yere utdanningsinstitusjoner over hele verden. Mange universiteter har innf\u00f8rt prinsipper for tjenede lederskap i sine ledelsesstrukturer og har sett positive resultater.<\/p>\n<p>UiB har ogs\u00e5 tatt initiativer for \u00e5 fremme tjenende lederskap. For eksempel har de arrangert seminarer og workshops om emnet og har ogs\u00e5 inkludert dette som en av deres kjerneverdier. Videre, i sin visjon for 2022, understreker UiB at de \u00f8nsker \u00e5 fremme ansvarlig ledelse, inkludert tjenende lederskap.<\/p>\n<p>Vi trenger n\u00e5 \u00e5 diskutere hvordan denne visjonen omgj\u00f8res til praktisk handling?<\/p>\n<p>Med \u00f8nske om god helg<\/p>\n<p>Eystein Husebye<br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 1rem\">Nesteleder K2<\/span>[:en]<strong>Servant leadership<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/k2info.w.uib.no\/files\/2023\/01\/Eystein-Husebye.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-21145 alignleft\" src=\"http:\/\/k2info.w.uib.no\/files\/2023\/01\/Eystein-Husebye-240x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"240\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/k2info.w.uib.no\/files\/2023\/01\/Eystein-Husebye-240x300.jpg 240w, https:\/\/k2info.w.uib.no\/files\/2023\/01\/Eystein-Husebye.jpg 400w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 240px) 100vw, 240px\" \/><\/a>Servant leadership is a management philosophy formulated by Robert K. Greenleaf in the 70s. The main idea is that the manager should serve the employees and the organisation, and differs from traditional leadership where the manager&#8217;s role is to promote the organisation&#8217;s interests.<\/p>\n<p>A servant leader shares power, puts the needs of employees first and helps people develop and perform at their best. Instead of the people working to serve the leader, the leader exists to serve the people. Greenleaf put it this way: A servant leader must ask himself the question: &laquo;Are my employees growing as people? As they serve, do they become healthier, wiser, freer, more autonomous, more likely to become servants themselves?&raquo;<\/p>\n<p>Do we have a serving leadership at UiB and for that matter the hospital we are an integral part of? As a scientific employee, many others and I experience that tasks that others previously did for us, now have to be done by us. We spend more and more time on documentation, filling in forms, organizing teaching and other administrative tasks. It feels like there are various administrative groups around us who are more concerned with leading us instead of serving us. This means that we have less time to do the university&#8217;s core tasks, namely research, teaching and communication.<\/p>\n<p>We need a debate about this. I did not have Fredrik Solvang available, so as an introduction I asked ChapGPT if we had serving leadership at UiB. It answered, among other things: &laquo;There is a growing interest in servant leadership in higher education institutions around the world. Many universities have introduced servant leadership principles into their management structures and have seen positive results.<\/p>\n<p>UiB has also taken initiatives to promote servant leadership. For example, they have organized seminars and workshops on the subject and have also included this as one of their core values.
