[:no]On behalf of the New York Academy of Sciences, I am pleased to\u00a0invite University of Bergen to submit two nominations for the 2024\u00a0<\/strong>Innovators in Science Award<\/strong><\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Established in November 2016, the Innovators in Science Award is a\u00a0global award<\/strong>\u00a0recognizing a promising\u00a0Early-Career Scientist<\/strong>\u2019s and an outstanding\u00a0Senior Scientist<\/strong>\u2019s contributions to\u00a0biomedical science<\/strong>\u00a0and is intended to support their commitment to innovative research.\u00a0Two prizes of US$200,000 are awarded each Award cycle<\/strong>\u00a0to winning scientists who have distinguished themselves for the creativity and impact of their research in a designated therapeutic area.\u00a0 The award is administered by the New York Academy of Sciences and sponsored by Takeda Pharmaceuticals.<\/p>\n

To draw attention to the increasing global cancer burden, the 2024 Innovators in Science Award will recognize scientists from around the globe for their exceptional research in\u00a0Cancer Immunology.<\/u>\u00a0<\/strong>Cancer remains the second leading cause of death worldwide, exacerbated by the difficulty in progressing novel therapeutics from the research lab to the clinic.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Your institution is invited to nominate one (1) promising Early-Career Scientist and one (1) outstanding Senior Scientist conducting research in Cancer Immunology\u00a0<\/strong>as candidates for the\u00a02024 Innovators in Science Award.<\/em>\u00a0The nomination period begins\u00a0February 1, 2023<\/u>\u00a0and ends\u00a0March 31, 2023<\/u><\/strong>. A link to the online nomination portal will be sent to you on February 1st<\/sup>.<\/p>\n

The Awards will be conferred at a formal ceremony and symposium in Boston, MA, USA in early 2024.<\/p>\n
