Professorene har sabbats\u00e5rordningen som er fantastisk mulighet til \u00e5 etablere nye samarbeid, bygge nettverk og f\u00e5 tid til \u00e5 planlegge prosjekter og skrive s\u00f8knader. Nye samarbeid er ikke bare nyttig for professoren selv, det gir muligheter for andre i forskningsgruppen til \u00e5 reise p\u00e5 utvekslingsopphold. Flere av gruppene p\u00e5 instituttet har utnyttet dette p\u00e5 en forbilledlig m\u00e5te, for eksempel diabetes- og lungeforskningsgruppene.<\/p>\n<p>N\u00e5 kan b\u00e5de professorer, postdoktorer og PhD-studenter s\u00f8ke om slike midler b\u00e5de fra <strong>UiB , <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uib.no\/med\/66285\/finansiering-av-utenlandsopphold-ansatte-ved-med\">frist 1. oktober<\/a>,<\/strong> og<strong>\u00a0Helse-Vest, frist <a href=\"https:\/\/helse-vest.no\/vart-oppdrag\/vare-hovudoppgaver\/forsking\/forskingsmidlar\/retningslinjer-og-skjema\/retningslinjer-for-utanlandsstipend\">15. september.<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0 Post doktorer oppfordres spesielt til \u00e5 s\u00f8ke og UiB gir et ekstra \u00e5r med l\u00f8nn om man benytter det i utlandet. St\u00f8tte kan ogs\u00e5 s\u00f8kes fra Forskingsr\u00e5det og andre legater og fond*. S\u00f8knadsfrist for forskningstermin er 1. april til instituttet hvert \u00e5r.<\/p>\n<p>Mange vegrer seg kanskje for et langt utenlandsopphold p\u00e5 grunn av praktiske utfordringer med tanke p\u00e5 jobb og studier for partner, skole for barn og bosted. Et alternativ kan v\u00e6re et kortere opphold, kanskje til et land i Europa som krever mindre praktiske forberedelser. Ogs\u00e5 slike opphold kan v\u00e6re verdifulle for nettopp \u00e5 etablere de nettverkene som kan l\u00f8fte forskningen.<\/p>\n<p>Les utlysningen og s\u00f8k. The professors have the possibility to go on a sabbatical every 7<sup>th<\/sup> year, which is a fantastic opportunity to establish new collaborations, build networks and have time to plan projects and write applications. New collaborations are not only useful for the professor him- or herself, it provides opportunities for others in the research group to go abroad. Several of the groups at the department have utilized this in an exemplary way, for example the endocrine, diabetes and lung research groups.<\/p>\n<p>Now, professors, postdocs and PhD students can apply for such funding both from <strong>UiB<\/strong> (deadline<a href=\"https:\/\/www.uib.no\/med\/66285\/finansiering-av-utenlandsopphold-ansatte-ved-med\"> 1 October<\/a>,\u00a0 and <strong>Helse-Vest<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/helse-vest.no\/vart-oppdrag\/vare-hovudoppgaver\/forsking\/forskingsmidlar\/retningslinjer-og-skjema\/retningslinjer-for-utanlandsstipend\">(deadline 15 September. <\/a>\u00a0Postdoctoral fellows are especially encouraged to apply (Helse-Vest) and UiB provides an extra year of salary if you use it for a stay abroad. Support can also be applied for from the Research Council and other funding bodies *. The application deadline for a sabbatical leave is 1 April to the department each year.<\/p>\n<p>Many do not consider an extended stay abroad due to practical challenges with regard to work and studies for their partner, schooling for children and housing. An alternative could be a shorter stay, perhaps to a country in Europe that requires less practical preparation. Such stays can also be valuable in order to establish the networks that can lift your research.<\/p>\n<p>Read the announcement and apply.
