[:no]\"\"<\/a>I g\u00e5r var noen av oss samlet til nedtelling mot s\u00f8knadsfristen til Norges Forskningsr\u00e5d. 10 \u2013 9 \u2013 8\u00a0 ned til 0, snipp snapp snute da var tiden ute. Men da hadde K2ere rukket \u00e5 sende 35 s\u00f8knader til NFR. Takk til alle s\u00f8kerne og administrasjonen (Amra, Julie, Kate, Kjetil, Linn, Burhan og Mia) som alle har jobbet mot et felles m\u00e5l \u2013 \u00e5 sende best mulig s\u00f8knader til Forskningsr\u00e5det. Instituttledelsen er sv\u00e6rt forn\u00f8yd med innsatsen. S\u00e5 blir det forh\u00e5pentlig mulighet til mer kakespising n\u00e5r det n\u00e6rmer seg jul.<\/p>\n

Samtidig m\u00e5 vi alle v\u00e6re klar over at n\u00e5l\u00f8yet er lite, selv om vi i fjor fikk to FRIPRO, tre BEHANDLING og ett GLOBEVAC-prosjekt, noe som muligens er Norgesrekord for et institutt av v\u00e5r st\u00f8rrelse. Gledelig er det i hvert fall \u00e5 se at s\u00e5 mange av de yngre forskerne s\u00f8ker i \u00e5r. Tolv s\u00f8knader er skrevet av forskere i midlertidige stilling. Tilsammen 19 s\u00f8knader er skrevet av kvinner og 16 av menn. Det vitner om evne og vilje til \u00e5 satse fremover.<\/p>\n

De fleste vil ikke f\u00e5 tildeling. Likevel er skriveprosessen og all tiden som er lagt ned viktig, b\u00e5de for \u00e5 skjerpe tanken og problemstillingene man jobber med, og fordi s\u00f8knaden kan brukes til andre utlysninger, kanskje f\u00f8rst og fremst til s\u00f8knader om regionale midler til Helse Vest. Andre muligheter er utlysninger fra EU.<\/p>\n

Dette er en \u00absten p\u00e5 sten\u00bb prosess som vi vestlendinger som trives i oppoverbakker er gode p\u00e5.<\/p>\n

S\u00e5 f\u00e5r vi h\u00e5pe at suksess avler suksess \u2013 og at julenissen kommer p\u00e5 bes\u00f8k tidlig i \u00e5r.<\/p>\n

\nNestleder K2[:en]\"\"<\/a>Yesterday some of us were gathered to count down towards the deadline for submitting applications to the Research Council of Norway; 10 – 9 – 8 down to 0. At the deadline K2\u2019ers had send a total of 35 applications to NFR. Thanks to all the applicants and the administration (Amra, Julie, Kate, Kjetil, Linn, Burhan,and Mia) who have all worked towards a common goal – to send the best possible applications to The Research Council. The department leadership is very pleased with the effort. Hopefully we will be inspired to eat another cate as Christmas approaches.<\/p>\n

At the same time, we must all be aware that the \u201ceye of the needle\u201d is small, even though we received two FRIPRO, three BEHANDLING and one GLOBEVAC project last year. This might be a national record for a department of our size. It is also gratifying to see that so many of the younger researchers are applying this year. Twelve applications were written by researchers in temporary positions. Altogether 19 applications were written by women and 16 by men. This testifies to the ability and willingness of K2\u2019ers to move forward to be leaders in their fields.<\/p>\n

Knowing that only about 1 out of 20 applications are funded, the majority of the 35 will be successful. Nevertheless, the writing process and all the time spent is not at all wasted as it both sharpens the hypotheses and ideas of the scientific project, and because the application can be used for other calls, such as Helse Vest and EU.<\/p>\n

Writing applications is a «stone upon stone» process that we, who thrive going uphill, are good at. So let\u2019s hope that success breeds success – and that Santa Claus comes to visit early this year.<\/p>\n
